I'm in Fort Fun too...well, I'm back east right now, but will be back in May. I didn't know about Windsor...that would be sick. Did you ride echo this season? If so, how was it?
fort collins sucks. the only close skiing is Echo Mtn (small), Breckenshit, (shitty), Keystone (really shitty) or A-Basin (good, but small and rocky). Loveland is the only decent one within hitting distance.
if you want skiing, go to:
+Colorado Mtn College (Copper Mtn, the Aspens, Steamboat, and Vail/BC are close)
+Western State College (CB, Monarch)
+Fort Lewis College (Wolk Creek, T-Ride, Silverton, insane backcounty)
+University of Utah (little cottonwood canyon)
A lot of schools offer ski resort management and it's a legitamate major. I don't see anything wrong with it. Maybee you don't have any idea what it takes to run a ski area. Clearly a degree in recreation or art is less legitamate than Business.
and how can you say keystone is wrose than breckenridge. You're obviously not concerned with park skiing as you've listed abasin as better than breck and keystone. The tree skiing at keystone is far better than anything at breck. Your rating system just doesn't make any sense to me.
I will agree that Fort Collins sucks. Home to the hottest women in Colorado, but not very close to skiing. Loveland and Echo would be closest at about 1 1/2 hours. Loveland will be closer to an 8-20 hour round trip with traffic. If you want to go to a good legitimate ski college, go to Western State, or Fort Lewis.
I went to CC (Colorado College). one of the better schools out there for academics.. a bit far from the hills though. breck is about 2 hours, keystone/a-basin 2 1/2, copper 2 1/2 - 3 (depends if you have an east coaster driving or not).. past that, vail and winter park are 3+, aspen's 5.
