OK! so i went and saw David Gilmour the other night. I honestly dont even know where to begin. It wasnt even a concert, it was an epic historical event. It was so hard to take it all in, all teh things ive watched on dvd happened right in front of my eyes, I saw God in the form of David Gilmour and Rich Wright. I am still in awe, when i woke up the next day my heart was still beating very fast. So, DG comes out and plays his new song on an island and proceeds to tell us that hes going to do his new album, take a break, then do old stuff. He played his new album great, every single song kept my attention and when he did "take a breath" the lights were going so nuts, you almost had to close your eyes because it was like colored strobes. So he finishes out his first set, i go take a pee and come sit back down. THe lights dim and what else do i hear but the fucking intro to Shine on you crazy diamonds, he did the beginning solo differently and it was soooo cool. Dick parry (saxophonist from all of there old stuff) was amazing. after they did that they played "wots... uh the deal" off of obscured by clouds, and if you know anything about floyd that is a very rare song to play and it was definitely one of my favorites, then he did a song off of division bell which was very good indeed. After that song he did " Fat old sun" off of Atom Heart Mother, the ending of this song when they totally jam out was incredible, DG has only gotten better at the guitar, its like its a part of him, a person could work there whole life to sound like him and never come close. that jam was so good. AND THEN WHAT ELSE DO I HEAR BUT THE OPENING PIN DROP OF ECHOES!!! i was flipping shit, they fucking jammed out on echoes like crazy. Straight off of pompeii, WRight was standing up on the organ Gilmour was bending his strings like crazy, they even played the entire thing, And at the end of all the crazy noises in the beginning when the guitar comes back in doing that little riff, was when they busted out for the first time of the show tons of lasers, i was literally in awe, i couldnt handle it. Echoes was ridicullous. he then did high hopes off of division bell which was very good. now we're on to the encore, comes out and plays wish you were here to the green lasers which of course is insane and very great, everyone is singing along, and then he goes, we're gonna do one more for you, this is comfortably numb, Comfortably numb was so cool, the lasers were going everywhere and he was just rockin out, the ending solo as always was just amazing (im running out of adjectives). that was the best concert and night of my life, on my wedding day im going to be saying " this is a great day, but not as good as the day i saw gilmour". I am like still just not believing what i witnessed two days later, im gonnaa post pics up real soon if anyone has actually read all of this
