No! Of course not, don't be ridiculous...
They're bulldozing the snow, not melting it.
What else do you expect from Grouse though, seriously.

Dang, gotta study, and lend my buddy 50 bones on his new pair of sticks today.
Last year there was the jib park from the 24th-end of april
maybe that will happen again

how can you not understand why they are closing from a money making perspective? They are closing because interest in skiing and snowboarding from the average public that visit grouse is very low right now. People are thinking about summer, not winter and skiing. Sure is sucks that they are closing, but think about how much money grouse would loose if they stayed open any longer, with the small amount of passholders going? not worth it, but hopefully they open a jib park, leave lifts closed, and let people go wild!

They should do the same as last year and just keep a jib park open. That was fun times.

ever heard of something called a permit?
lets them run their operation..? yeah, those have set dates on them for closing, regardless on snow conditions.
thats why CB just closed with near-midwinter conditions.

Grouse Mountain, 2007:
-Closes with 400+cm snow base still remaining.
-Great Conditions, 2 days of powder fell after closing day.
-Enough snow to cover every run on the mountain until June.
-Enough snow to build a park that would rival Blackcomb.
Why did they close?
-They had to make the park available for a snowboard movie shoot... so they are now building two step ups that would have suited the Highest Level Park during the season, but noooo they only build small stuff during the season.
-They have to make way for "summer activities" AKA tourist trap... so they're harvesting the snow into one location to make it melt faster.
-Shame on you Grouse.

^yeah, the people who run grouse must only care about the money, but that survey would really be worth taking. I've done it and complained.

As we speak. Or they could be completed. 60 footers... huge. Stuff they should make during the season, those big goons... we should be the ones sessioning those right now. But of course Grouse is all about endorsements and making money.

wow..
i havent been this pissed in some time i thought they just closed and that was it.. i had no idea they made the park super dope for like 10 snowboarders insted of making it dope all season for the hundreds of skiers and snowboarders

Our hill closed two weekends ago and they still had a 300 cm base when they closed. The thing is that there were just hardly any people still coming up, only the every-day'ers. SO they weren't making any money running the lift. theres a buiness aspect to everythign tooo

I contend that our hill didn't do anything to capitalize on the fact that they could still be open right now.
