BY SATURDAY A WEATHER SYSTEM FORMING THE GULF OF ALASKA WILL DROP SOUTH INTO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND NEVADA BRINGING COOLER AND WINDY WEATHER THROUGH SUNDAY. GUSTY WINDS WILL INCREASE ON LATE FRIDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY. SNOW LEVELS WILL DROP TO NEAR 6000 FEET BY SATURDAY THEN TO NEAR 4500 FEET ON SUNDAY. SNOW AMOUNTS IN THE MOUNTAINS OF 6 TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE BY LATE SUNDAY. NO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE WESTERN NEVADA VALLEYS BUT A FEW SNOW SHOWERS ARE LIKELY.

4500 feet is the elevation that the snow will fall at...beneath that itll either be mixed or rain....could u imagine what nearly a mile of snow would be like?

man this is so awsome. it's still snowing but most of the resorts are closin cause they don't have enough people to actually make money off of. it's pretty fun though cause the lift lines aren't too long and the parks are all buffed out with everyhing they got.
