Freeride skiers and boarders who have died...

I was wondering....does anyone have a list or a source of the names of freeride skiers and snowboards who have passed away? I was gonna do a tribute thing for a project I have to do. Any help would be really appriciated. Even if you only know one or two, please lis the name and a date if you can, if not names are fine. Thanks again to anyone who can help me out with this one.

i heard about some pro snowboarder who tried to slide down this spiral staircase on his ass and fuckin fell 5 stories and died. does anyone know anything about that?

...there was a skier, a while back, who cased a road-gap and hit the guard-rail and died. I dont know his name...has any skier ever died while trying something knew like a switch misty 1440 opposite blunt, and just broke their neck?

yah i heard abotu a boarder in germany or somthign that fell five stories down trying to grind a five storie hand rail ro somthing, landed on his ass and his tail bone shoved into his brain and killed him instantly :-(!

you guys have the whole snowboarder who slid a rail and fell 5 story's wrong.

It was jeff anderson and he was in nagano japan for some comp and it was 3 in the morning and he tried to slide down a spiral staircase on his ass and he was on the 5th floor, he got to the 4th floor on his ass but thats where he lost his balance and fell 50 ft to his death.

these guys were my idols for a long time! i was followin craig kelly's career back when he went on to win 4 consecutive world cup titles! brett was just a fuckin sick skier who knew what was up!

Thomas Andrew Pertzborn died skiing out of bounds at mammoth. his body was found at the bottom of a 400 foot cliff. its pretty obvious how he died.

well, all the people who died in revelstoke, all like 11-14 I think, kids 14-16 from strathcona school, and some people up skiing, thats all I can think of, and petek didnt dis anyone

Tristan Picot was the French rossi snowboarder that died in Jan at Jackson Hole. He got taken over a cliff by a slide and broke his neck.

Yeah, that one in Jackson sucked. He was riding with travis rice(x-games winner) and travis took them to where he died. I know travis's sister and she said he was crying and all depressed because he took him there. It really shook him up bad.

Jeff Anderson's mom teaches at my school, and it really sucks, he was drunk, and he was at Japan for a rail competition. he was sliding down a spiral rail at his hotel on his ass and he fell five stories to his death. it really sucks, i mean what a shitty way for such a great person to die.

This is a true story, i'm not kiddin i read it in some ski magazine a while back i forget which one. There was this snow boarder out west and the mountain he was ridin was closing the lifts but his house was like half way up the mtn. so he convinced the lifties to let him ride the lift cause there was a bad storm comin and he didn't want to have to walk that far. So the lifty who let him go up left and there was another one left in the booth next to all lifts that didn't know anything about it. well when he was about 3/4 of the way up they stopped the lift to close down and he was all like wtf so he sat there for like 30 min then decided to jump cause the storm was gettin worse. When he jumped he broke his leg and had to snowboard to his house all messed up. He then saw that his door was snowed in so he climbed over to the window on top of his house then just jumped through it cause he was so cold. Well he fell like 10ft broke his arm and passed out next to his heater. He woke up a little later to find that he was on fire and burnt bad. he did one of those stop drop roll things with a broken leg and arm but managed to put out the fire. He then crawled his way over to his phone and called the mountain patrol. They came up in a snow cat to rescue him. They dug out his door went into his house and carried him out in a stretcher to the snow cat. As they were goin down the mountain the weather got worse and the snow cat crashed. The guy like broke his neck and his other leg and died the driver and the other guy in the cat also died but the story is known cause the guy told the whole thing to the mountain patrol while he was waiting for the snow cat to arrive. They nicknamed him trouble or somthin like that. I know this is hard to believe but I really did read it in some magazine and they were real serious about it and like not kidding so if I find anymore info i'll post it.

Landon Sawyer passed away a year ago last month...he wasn't a freerider, but he was a freestyle skier and an amazing person. I never heard one bad word come out of his mouth about anything or anyone, he was always just smiling. He was in CO and swerved to avoid a fallen skier and collided with a tree. He was only 18 and was my bestfriend...there is a second that goes by where i am not thinking about him....we miss you landon!!!

a couple big mountain snowboarders died in the last few years. this french kid disapeared ridding down evrest, it was his 2nd time and i think one or 2 other ones.

I guy that worked for my dad years back, Ryan Jaminson, died last year hiking a back bowl. he had a heart atack and could not get out in time. He was in freeze years back doing a huge front flip at his home in vermont, I know Winterton took that photo. Anyway he was cool shit and i was sorry to hear that he passed. He also ran the Company 'Seven' if anyone has heard of it.
