Why do gay people speak differently?

Now I realize not all gay people speak like stereotypical gay people but so many of them do and its weird. What about being gay changes your voice?

ok you're all a bunch of non-understanding jackasses. and i mean the least amount of offense by that but seriously. if you are a homosexual...it relates to how feminine you are. The more feminine you are the higher the levels of estrogen are in you. so therefore you will start to talk more like a girl would...slash talk with you hands...be more emotional...the whole deal. I can understand the higher tone as a result of increaced estrogen levels, but the lispy tone is something culturally assumed. That woman from Will and Grace has the highest voice and she isnt lispy.

And yes, i understand that you said "my" hypothalamus, but i took it in a universal context.
