So I am thinking about applying there for college next year. I haven't heard much about it other than block schedule type thing when you take one class for 3 weeks straight. So, how is it there?
well, look at it this way - if you get stuck in a class you dont like for some reason or other...you're stuck living that class for the next three weeks...thats why im going to boulder this fall
were not talking about colorado mountain college here, are we? cause that place is def not hard to get into. could someone put up a link to the colleges website? im looking for somewhere to go that i can ski for.
Colorado College is very very very very different then CMC.
It is on of the best liberal arts schools in the country.
it is a good school, super liberal campus in a pretty conservative place. The springs isn't that bad, but it is no Boulder.
The education there is very good though. originally I thought the block plan system would suck, but after 4 semesters now trying to juggle 2-3 labs per semester, I can see it being extremely nice.
If you are serious about your education, and want to be in CO, CC is the best place for you.
Its website is www.coloradocollege.edu
Co Springs can kind of sucks, but I guess it depends where you came from and what you are into. It is about 1.75-2 hours to Breck.
I got in, but decided that I liked Hamilton College better...dispite the serious disparity in skiing terrain.
The block plan looked cool. If you like the subject you can get way into it, if you dont its over in 3 weeks, and gaurenteed you learn the shit your focused on...with that kind of focus how could you not?
Seemed like a pretty nice campus though, a little run down, but decent over all.
C. Springs is a wasteland of bible thumping uber conservatives. but if that fits then by all means go for it. its a really good school and i know that everyone likes the block schedule. its far from skiing but close to mountains. if you can get past C springs not being a very fun place then go for it.
who needs a college like that anyway? especially if your a skier, and if you plan on skiing alot or doing something in ski buisness cmc would probably be better.
ya you can go to CMC and get a bull shit degree in resort management that will put you about the same place if you are a liftie for 2 years or you can go to CU boulder and get a business degree ski about half as much and learn 10 times as much.
If you are liberal go to CU if you are rich go to DU if you like hot chicks but far from skiing go to CSU, If you are conservative and religious go to Colorado College. If you want to ski a lot and graduate with nothing to show go to CMC if you want to ski a lot and have someting to show go to fort lewis. If you want to go to one of the best engineering schools in the west go to mines and ski when you can.
You must be joking. 90% of the school isnt religious or conservative. If you are a hairy, vegan, and unwashed then you probably go to colorado college.
ya your right I dont spend a whole lot of time down there but I just talked to my buddy who went there and said that it is decentally liberal but the rest of c springs is pretty consevative.
this should say if you are conservative and religious go to university of colorado in colorado springs. colorado college is liberal and it pretty much doesnt fit into the town. 90 percent of the student body smokes pot. but i think it is about 40 grand a semester or something like that. in my opinion if you want to ski a lot and go to CU or DU, hitch hike up to the mountains and camp on the weekends its the cheapest way.
dude save your money, buy the books from the college and read them while working as a liftie at breck, vail, copper or keystone. cmc is a joke, i had a friend that went there and he said everyone is doing crazy drugs and pointless.
