I live on the east coast and was plannin on gettin either next years chronics or foils. But now it turns out I'm gonna be livin out in CO for three weeks in january... Will the foils be fat enough to ski pow out there? I'm also thinking about the chronic blends, but I don't really know anything about them yet. Any suggestions would be great, but within volkl, k2, salomon, line, and atomic because those are the skis I can prodeal from work. Out here I ski about 80% in the park, but out west I'll probably ski more like 40% in the park. I'm willing to sacrifice some powder performace as I don't want to buy a second pair of skis for three weeks.

PS: I'd prefer a lighter ski because I've skied PEs for the last two years and am kinda tired of havin bricks on my feet all day.

i wouldn't get fat skis just because you are going to colorado for three weeks. something with an 85-90 waist would be perfect

I would have to say unless you have tried the foils, go w/ something else. I demo them and they just werent for me. Im not saying there bad ski, its just different from others I have tryed.
I would say gather a demo list to try some while ur out there, unless your trying to find a good deal over the summer.
What type of skis have you skied on that you like? Stiffness, waist, sidecuts?? That could narrow down your list.
