Salomon bindings do about as much as duct tape, except they cost a bit more. I don't feel the least bit comfortable riding a pair (unless it's super high-end), so I only let look/rossi bindings touch my skis.
How fat are u? im 155 and i ride 810 ti's hard all season and havnt had one problem. Im gona upgrade to the 912 ti's next season. Salomon bindings kick ass.
810 Ti's were the worst binding i ever owned they pre-released at least 4 times each day. I let my friend borrow the skis and he ended up breaking his collar bone from them pre-releasing
i still don't get why people have such problems with salomon bindings and some don't ever have a problem... whilst i prefer my look pivots my 914 have held up pretty well for a good few years. i'd still put them on a new pair of skis now. (i'm pretty light and buying a heavier duty salomon binding than you think you need is worth while)
the thing i don't like is that i feel like i have to ceck them every time i ride, them seem to like change themselves whereas the looks just keep taking a beating. i've seen people tear looks clean out though but any binding will do that under a big enough beating.
If they break that is one thing if they are ripping out use heli coils. Heli coils are like thirty bucks and the only way they are coming out is if your leg is going to tear off.
With two of them, At some point in time they couldn't take the amount of switch falls I was taking, learning 540's. They would pop out and then the speed would rip the brake foreward. That happened enough to kill the brakes.
Second, when I broke my Femur, i landed on my side and my top ski/boot landed right on top of the bottom binding that was still on my foot. The force of my two legs hitting each other ripped the binding clear off the track. (This would have happened to any binding, i'm sure)
and third, I'm not sure what happened. But there is a lot of shattered plastic, and it's ripped out of the track. A different way.
The 912ti is not a bad binder just not super park durable, Every ski gear review ranks them as one of best binders each year since i have been a skier. The looks and rossi are not the same anymore, they changed to a track heel like solly, and marker bindings get a bad rap like solly.
well i've had my s912ti's for 2 seasons now and have no had one problem with them.. they've pre-released maybe once since i got them.. they work fine in the park and basically all-mountain
