Anthems for EC parks

i just finished my season on my 178 Invaders. i loved them. many delams on the top sheet. they were taller then me, but not much. im 5'7" OR 5'8". i was considering the Anthems for next year in a 171. how would these hold up for me. i ski 100% park.

P.S. i heard that they are stiffer than the invader were this year. is this true or are the anthems jus as flexy

the invaders are the exact same ski as the invader but with a 93mm waist instead of 83. Theyll work perfect for park

your skis didnt delam. just because a little plastic came off the top doesnt mean it delamed. same happenned to mine but its not a big deal at all

the top sheet is peeling and the edge on my tip came off...is that enough to warrenty?

Probably not, and I guarantee you've jibbed on them, so forget the warrantee, just beat them up.

Why not stay with 178 anthems?

Yah, I wouldn't go fatter and shorter. 178 Anthem would be great. Don't go any smaller.

even if he did jib them, the damage isnt underfoot, it is at the tip. he could still waranty them

the damage on the tip is from hitting it on a rail i believe?

but i think the delam is warenteable if you actualy see it

and rob dont go any shorter stay 178

with a way fatter waist i think thell be heavier so if you get 170 it will be lighter = better, but yeah that is a bit short, why dont you just get the invaders, theres no need for the 93 waist,

i have a edge missing on the tip of one...top sheet peeling everywhere...and some damage on bases. i bought them from a shop...not directly from line. and i was hoping to pay $80 to upgrade to anthems. are my invaders warrentyable??

i doubt they are warrantee-able. i bet the edge game out because of rail damage, and the topsheet stuff is just cosmetic. And i don't see the need for a 93 waist when he says he skis 100% park. it's just added unneccessary ski.

why is there a need for a 93 waist in the park? its noticably heavier, who cares if it helps you a little on rails or landings, people do just fine in the park without superfat skis, if you land a trick just because its fat then odds are you landed it sketchy and ugly.

the anthems are nice. there not the same as the invader. there is a bit stiffer flex pattern in them. still have the butter zone but a better overall ski

or people ski wider skis in the park cause it gives you better balance and makes you adopt a wider stance, and it feels different. Some people like that feeling better.

people do just fine in the park with fat skis.....

what are the advantages of having narrower skis in the park... there faster edge to edge... ok are you racing between gates on your way off the booter?

Weight could be argued because depending on core and manufacturing techniques a 90 waist ski isn;t nessarly heaver then a ski with a 80mm in the same length.

Wider skis are also more versatile in all conditions generally.

so it could be argued either way really.

It comes down to personal preferences. hece why the make anthems and invaders.

sorry to bring this back but I couldn't find what I was looking for when I searched...

Would the wider base make the Anthems any better for riding outside of the park compared to the invaders?

if u noticed the edge damage is on the tip so line will not consider it rail damage. also it is delaming, if the ski delams especially all over the ski it is looked upon as a manufacturer defect. and the 93 waist may not be necessary but, it will be good to have, it adds stability on rails and jumps, and u know what they say, "fat is the new skinny"

im probably looking towards the anthems next year too...i just need to decide 161 or 171, im 5'4 130lbs. i ski EC too so i MIGHT look into the invaders instead but we'll see when the time comes.

^how old are u? if u get 171s u will be able to ride them longer. but they may be to much ski for u but probably not since they are somewhat soft

yea thats what i figured cuz i went from 148 scratches to 160 predators center mounted and didn't notice a big difference size wise. the scratches werent center mounted.

theyd definatly be good especially if ur like me and like a wider ski so u got a bit more of a platform to land on. id go with the 178 especially since theyre center mount so they ride way shorter. i ride 170 sprayer bc's and they feel pretty short. i want to get some anthems soo badly tho. they look so sick

when i skied them its a perfect mix of the chrons and the vaders and the edges are pretty beefy not as beefy as the AR5s but beefy edges for line and i dont know what the range of price is man sorry

are anthems all park or would they be ok if i go out west and ski pow, but only for like a week a year, all the other times i ski im in the park, would they work for me?

i would say...possibly? they are obviouisly wider in a 93 waist, and seem to have a stiffer flex pattern from what goes around. im not sure if the infamous true center mount would do you well in the pow, maybe 2-3 back from cetner and pow would be alright?

thanks, ya they sound pretty sick.i ve just heard a lot about fattish skis in the park (i know there not realllly fat) but im thinkin those or the ninth butterlicious.

get the anthems!!!! i have the motherships and they are 97mm underfoot and i ski 100% park. so much better, i dont see how i lived with an 85 waist for all those years!

i hope you meant 2-3 on normal skis not anthems, they should only b mounted center.
and if ur only going out for a week i wouldn't worry about it too much

how in the world would you know anything about his skis, he didnt explain any details about it. dont talk like you know exactly what happened, not everyones invaders shed a little topsheet, some actually delam, hence the 1,000 threads about it on the site.

what are u saying not as beefy as the ar5????

i have chronics and they are unstoppable....they are fucking rocks....not 1 edge crack and i def. put them through thier paces on jibs....my buddy has ar5's and he has tons of edge cracks just from 1 season....and i have had my chrons for 2 seasons...


im not sure wherer you get your info/logic from,.
