ok for all the people saying a sw14 is easy, or that its bad for the sport...HATERS
Ok... all of these people at this comp can and DO make smaller spins look dope, and super smooth. Ok so can hundreds of other skiiers...so how many skiiers can make a sw 12 or 14 look good or even do one really? Thats why they do it, and thats why they are PROS!!!
I freaking hate all these haters on here saying oh that shit is played, or its not that hard over that big of a jump... W/E go try one...and let me know how 'easy' it was...
If everyone was doing huge sw 5's off the jump or something you know how many people would be like oh that was so smooth, but i could do that... when you see jon do his kang, or tj do a sw 14 everyone is like 'holly shit' that was crazy, or that was sweet... hardly anyone says oh i could do that...
i think what angers me the most in this thread is people sayin harlaut is gonna be an amazing skier because he did a switch 14 at age 14. now, obviously the kid has mad skills and we all know he is obviously a very talented skier, but why cant people find other ways to justify if a skier is good or not? when someone is really good at skiing we say they are a really good SKIER, not a really good 1440ier or a really good 810on-er. again nothing personal towards harlaut, im just saying in the case of all skiers their talent level should be judged on every aspect of what they do on skis, no just one trick, one comp or one kind of skiing.
bottom line is if ur skills are sweet u dont have to spend all ur time promoting ur self on this forum w fake names and getting ur little posse to write great things about you.
Go podium w ur shit and then keep posting self promo shit and someone will eventually give u some much needed attention.
yeah i dont think age matters.....if your given big jumps and a sick park you should be doing big spins....not exactly 1440's but some ar better then others....but i havnt heard about this guy in anything recently and this was a year ago so i dont know how far hes goin(i dont really hear bout more then the really good ones, and if hes that good i shoulda) but not to take away from that sick trick
anybody could throw a sw 1440 over that jump u just have to sak up. but no doubt that kids got talent most kids his age are trying to sak up and throw 3's over small jumps. so im not trying to put his skill down but if you just throw the rotation good on a jump that large and anybody could do a sw 1440. notice very very few of the other competitors were throwing straight spins by the way. people were more focused on double rodeos and corks and shit
Props to whoever dug this out of the thread graveyard. Anyway, I was reading on the first page, and people were saying he'd be out by 16, but now he's just getting started. Great skier, and he has the best style I've ever seen.
