I get peopel mad when i say it is only about 15 minute walk away and it turns out to be like 30 or 45 they think it was long because thy were expecting 15 minutes.

i prefer bottles.

well, here's my thoughts. if i'm in one place and on the east coast (or if i'm on the west coast and I have money to burn) than I buy bottles.

if i'm traveling while drinking then it's cans all the way. way friendlier for moving around.

the east (i'm sorry, i'm refering to ontario when i say east, i know it's not real east, but that's what these damn west coasters seam to think it is, so i'll just go with it) is all about the bottles, the west is more into the cans. i think can's are cheaper to make and stuff so it makes sence that there's more cans and stuff.

but you get more beer in a can anyways, so cans are good.

for the best deal (well, at least at this one cold beer and wine store at willow and broadway) is a 6 pack of pilsner tall cans... works out to like around 9 beers and it's one dollar cheaper than a 8 pack of normal size cans. i'm sorry, i'm way off topic here.

beer is the worst alcohol to backpack with. if ur backpacking, you should def always carry hard liquor than cans of beer. beer takes up way too much space when hiking.

actually, most beer comes in bottles out west since it is microbrews. macrobrews are always cans, easier and cheaper to produce and distribute. if ur tryin to save money, go with shitty cans. if ur a beer drinker who knows his beer, you'll always go w/ bottles since theyre micro and always taste better than macro.

anyone who says beer is just beer is an idiot.

I've had some disgusting micros. Just because a little company made something, doesn't mean its better. I mean look at Softride or Alien Amber Ale.

^^right on thanks for the clarification. either way, if ur doin real backpacking in the mountains, or travelling in the boundary waters, beer is way too heavy and space consuming. i also prefer beer to hard liquor, its just better.

you are correct sir. there are some micros out there that dont taste very good. however, for every shitty micro out there, i'd say there are a good 5-10 shitty macros.

if you live in quebec and have a car, and are doing serious drinking, the best deal is to take your car to costco, where you can get 24s of good beers (e.g. sleeman, heiniken ..sp) for less that 24 bucks.

here's everyones best bet:compromise. drink good beer (bottles) until you're somewhat drunk, then crack open shitty cans for the rest of the night, because you cant taste the beer after ur wasted, it all becomes the same.

haha i discovered last year that my siver ten 4 will hold exactly 3 bottles in the front pouch. they were packed pretty tight and hardly clanked.

u suck. i hate you. u dont deserve to drink beer. pale ale, india pale ale, pilsner, stout, porter, amber ale, wheat beer, lagers,draught beer, malt beer,hefeweizen, dont forget ur seasonal ales, kolsch beer, white ales, belgian beer (brew style), german beer, fuckin american beer, english beer, irish beer. these are just a few of many types of delicious beer. my point is: beer is NOT just beer.
