Going the distance

so i was writting down a bunch of phone number (not important) and i was thinking about area codes, and travelling and all that stuff. made me want to start this thread.

living in canada, all canadians travel a lot in our lives. i think we're lucky to have such a big country to roam around in (and i also think it's sad when i know that a most of my 'higschool' friends are still living in the same town with the same old excuses as to why they haven't gone somewhere).

but some people (like me) are transiant. And it seams like the more you trevel your perception of distance is always changing. I mean the words close and far are subjective. what is close to some might be unreachable for others.

what do you define as "far"? I've gotten into trouble a few times from friends when I claimed something as 'not too far' when they thought different.

umm, like 2 hours for jsut a day/ night is far. but for like a tripppppp, antying your traveling a FULL day is far. I had a 8 hour road trip to quebec, and it was far but it wasnt FAR. if you gotta sleep over its far. or anyting on an airplane is far

umm i consider anything over 10 hours far, like driving across canada in 3 days I wanted to die.

15 hours on a plane is far, one hour walking is far, 8 hours in a car is far

I get people mad when i say it is a 15 minute walk and it turns out to be 30 or 45 minutes, they just think it is long because they were expecting a 15 minute walk.

i love the drive from southern ontario to the west coast. i've done it 3 times (going west). haven't driven across to the east coast (canada side) yet. been all over the east coast on both side, but on the canadian side in a car i've only gone as far as sherbrook. from there to moncton is a mystery to me.

^ yea that would be tough, all i know is that when my ass starts hurting from sitting down thats when its been 'far'

yah, thats about it, sept for me, i can walk for hours and hours... like one day i walked for 3 hours in the wrong direction cause some ass hole pointed me in the wrong direction.

i used to live really far from all my friends cause i lived out in the boonies and sometimes i had to bike home and i actually lived like 20k from them so i would see how fast i could get home and one time when i was pretty hammered i got home in like 15-20 minutes i was pretty proud of myself

yea, i grew up on a farm so my bike was my best friend (hard to skateboard on dirt roads), but the bonus was that I lived ontop of 'the hill' so everywhere was downhill from home (sucked comming home though). one night I hit up three different parties in three different towns using my bike. it was sweet - party hopping on a bike all night.

I consider out of the country far, or anything that takes longer then a day to travel to kind of far.
