So I got fucked over yesterday worse than I ever have before. Me and my girl have been going out for 2.5 years. We're in love, stuff is going great, yada yada. I'm on a workterm away from home right now. Some people call me crazy, but I never mind when she goes out and stuff. She came from a relationship where she was cheated on and hurt really badly. So I guess I knew that she would never do that to me. We'll she never cheated on me... but she did tell me that she fell for another guy. She isnt sure what she wants to do but she has to think about it. she is either going to throw us out the window and go for this dude she has known for 1 week, or continue with me and rebuild. Now I'm in complete shock over this. this is not like my girl. We were pretty much ready to settle down, so this is some crazy shit I have to deal with. question is, If I really love her do I give her a chance if she decides to go with me? or do i not wait for her decision and break up with her knowing that things will never be exactly the same again. or do I go on a murderous rage and kill them both and cap myself afterwards? fucking women.

Dude, if she's seriously considering dumping you for some other chick, that's no kind of love I've ever heard of. Again, obviously she does feel differently about you (ie she's lying), unless she never really cared that much about you in the first place. Which seems odd if she stayed with you for 2.5 years.

i told her. she says she never tried to hurt me but she said she just got this crazy feeling and she can't "shake him". If someone would have said she was going to do this to me and bet me $50 I would have wagered my life. shit doesnt even make sense. kinda gives me an idea for a movie... tell me what you think. starts off as a love story, like real deep one. and than the girl leaves him for another guy. guy takes it real hard, kills himself, and wakes up in some pod or something all matrix style hes like wtf? and they tell him it was all an experiment. they are actually really far in the future and the human race has evolved to eliminate emotion and the whole time the dude was part of an experiment to reintegrate emotion. so the guy is in the real world now and he finds the girl that broke his heart but he still loves. she doesnt know him though because in the experiment, every characters looks and personality are like someones in the real world. he sees this as his second chance and makes her fall in love with him and everyone is happy because emotions are finally being reintroduced and he hes happy because he got a second chance and he made the most of it. the end. not bad eh? or am i psycho?

Yeh mate same happenned to me, both with the young engagement and with this dude getting fucked over. I think its generally due to being young and stupid, but in my case i was wasted. I proposed just before i passed out, but then the bird though i was being serious and i didn't want to tell her i was just plastered. Anyway cut a long story short, same thing happened as this dude, she went off with some cunt who she only knew for a week.
Fuck it i've had so much more (and better quality) sex since i split up wiht that bitch anyway!

Sucks dude, but it was foreseeable from the moment she started talking about wanting the other guy. Possibly it was just an excuse to get out of the commitment, possibly not. Get your fucking ring back, by the way. Play Ben Folds for her if you have to. Anyway, she's not worth your time. And I don't agree with the protect your women thing... if you have to shelter your girl to keep her off other guys, something's not right... either you're not doing everything you should be for her, or she's just a worthless tramp bitch. If a girl ever wanted to do that to me, I'd just get her right out of my life. It's never quite happened, though I've been in some almost similar situations, and that's pretty much what I did.

I understand why youre pissed, and hurt, but I dont know if you can really blame her. People change, especially between the ages of 18 and 21. Her telling you exactly what was going and basically letting tying things off with you before pursuing things with this other guy (or any other guy) shows a fair amount of maturity and respect for you, considering how most people treat each other.
Anybody who says that she doesnt love you because she found herself interested in another guy hasnt been in a long term relationship. Give it a year or 2, the novelty wears off, and its not exciting anymore. Do you still love the person? Of course. But you see an attractive girl walk by and you cant help but wonder - and in her case - she meets this attractive guy, it seems new and exciting to her, and she realizes shes not ready to be so committed to you at such a young age. It sucks, but I dont think you can blame her.
Be happy she didnt cheat on you and then just stop returning your calls, and go into your next relationship a better person because of her.

i have to agree with JD, it's probably not easy for you to realize a person you are in love with is "like that" but it really isn't necessary to shelter your ladies, or be controling. that actually drives us away, or for some of us drives us to do the things you don't trust us not to do out of spite. i'm sorry this all happened to you though, i recently rode that rollercoaster and i still feel a bit ill from all of it. i think it's the most painful thing to ever have to accept.... being madly in love with someone and giving everything you can to make them happy and their life good.... and in return you are just another girl or guy to them- another step along their path.
