Hello everyone. I have been snowboarding for going on 10 years now, but I have decided to make the switch after hanging out with some freestyle skiers. I am currently looking into getting my first pair of twin tips and I found a pair of Line 1260's for a very good price. The questions I have are, I am 5'11 and 165lbs and these skis are 164cm so are they big enough for me? I was also curious about bindings. Do any and all bindings work on any and all skis? I was hoping to be able to do the bindings myself since I probably wont order from the same website, so are bindings mountable at home or does a shop have to do it? Thanks for the help.
hey man good choice. those 1260s r too short tho i would go minimum 170 up to 180. cm. and u need to get ur bindings mounted in a shop, and get look p10s or rossi axials, theyre the best binding ive encountered...or if ur loaded get 4frnt deadbolts
Thanks for all the help so far. Snowboarding in the Midwest is tough enough, I'm glad I found these forums with some guys that know their shit. Right now I can get a pair of 1260s in 177, so would that be a good size? Also, is the 1260 a good ski? I've heard good things about Line but then I've also heard of some major delam problems with the invader so I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the 1260? I probably won't buy a 2nd pair of skis until mid-way next season, so I want a quality durable pair now. Any thoughts?
i personally hated my 1260s...but if your just starting out and can get them cheap g for it...other suggestion would be getting the armada ar5...for bindings go with some Look P12's or some Rossignal axial 120s
