does any body know of some kind of work a kid in high school could get in photography, just like part time. i have access to a dark room, and i can only do black and white. i was thinking i could put flyers somewhere and do portraits or something, has anybody done anything like this? or have any ideas?
work independently...sell to anyone you can not only ski or snowboard mags. You would be supprised on who would buy ski pictures...I just sold a picture to a large real estate ferm. Also think product placement.

yeah but how do you recomend i get into some kind of job, im not looking for anything real hardcore, im not even that good, i just wanna make cash on the side, i here you can charge a lot for portraits
before you can charge alot you have to prove you know your shit. I have a pretty good portfolio and people are starting to recognize me. Build yourself up and be comfortable with your skill before you charge for your work.
You have a good start, but the pictures are a bit bland and not totally focused. I'd suggest taking more of different subjects, maybe something that gives you more options in taking the picture. Try to find better colors too. They're a good start though.
put together a portfolio and send it around. be proficient in photoshop, aperture, and any other RAW workflow programs. bottom line is you have to have good shit and be able to deliver, or else they'll find someone else.
but shooting raw doesn't mean jack shit if you don't have a streamlined way of working with the files - photoshop is an option, but it's destructive. and i've never liked the software that ships with the camera, call me picky.
yeah, i like aperture. i still have yet to seriously sit down and fool around with it, but just what i've been able to do off the bat (contrast, white balance, etc) blows me away.
Take tons of photos, and send the best of them out to everything that will buy photos.
Just keep sending and they'll find something they like eventually.
ok see with photography, it doesn't really matter how good you are, because there will always be handfuls of people as good and better than you. you have to get your work out there and expose yourself. and in the professional world, it's digital. if youre one of them "only use film" types then you have to be a legit legit artist to have anyone waste their time with you. like brian gaberman in skateboarding. he shoots only film, but that's only because he is the cat's meow, and not many people are, so you have to give in to shitty jobs and work to make it. like wedding photography. that's not fun, or artistic, but it's a photography job that pays.
