Pvc flat down help (filling in gap)

ok so i have a flat down rail (or up flat) i have built and there a a gap between the two pvc pipes

what would be the best way to fill this in so it is smooth and edgest dont catch

Just decrease the hight of the down rail so there is like a quarter inch drop, that way you wont have to worry about filling the gap or catching.

i have heard of pvc glue bond type stuff. it is liquid [vc and just bonds together so its actually part of it. probably find it at home depot or something. or if you dont want to ddo that, i'd just lower the down part a little bit.

I did the plumping for pools for two summers. That glue wont work on a "butt" joint like that. It's designed for large area "sleeve" joints. The vibrations of you hitting the pipe would break it apart. Your best bet is as said earlier just drop it a 1/4". Or raise the flat part a foot to make a gnar drop down sawtooth rail!

it doesnt look like it will catch if itsjust a flat down. othrwise, yea ive heard of people using special glue

or you could just cut the down part and the wood underneith it at an angle so that its flush up against the flat one

i can't drop it because i want to use it as and up flat as well and posably make it into a b-ship

is there like sum tape of something u tink i could put or maybe somthing else to smothern the top part of the gap out

use a saw to cut the two pipes at angles making them flush with each other

you will not catch on that, unless you are grinding really slowly solely on your front edge, which will not happen.

well to solve your up rail problem. Just raise it up a little higher when you want up flat and lower it when you want flat down.

cut it at that angle then move it up. thats what i did with mine

make the pipes flush, then use pc-7 (i think) it's like crazy glue that hardens to a plastic, then sand it down a lot

i have made many pvc rails and pvc glue doesnt work. your best bet is to cut both ends and try making it as flush as possible, dont worry too much about sanding it down because that will happen already with a bit of use. what worked best on my best two rails was a small drop, though its fun sometimes to have a large drop.
