Summer Public Park Riding?

Hey Oregoners,
Im from Marquette, Michigan and am looking into a big ass road trip sometime in July. I really want to ride, and am wondering what you guys have going on there in july? I saw that a few camps run in the Mount Hood area. I cant afford and dont think a camp would help me out much. Is there anywhere that has a public park we can ride? How much would public park lift tickets cost there? Is the public park any good? Are you able to poach any camp parks easily? Are there good, cheap campsites close to the area? Thanks a lot for all your info and knowledge.

ya hood has a public park, its not the greatest though... i've heard you can sneak into the camps private parks, and if you're shredding good i doubt they'll kick you out anyways... or you can do windells day pass.

Timberline has a sick public park: www.skitimberlinelodge.com

there are some scattered campsites around, but i'm not sure exactly where or how much. And to my knowledge, you cant buy a day pass to Windells, and Travis will beat you down if you try to poach

actually most people get kicked out of camps and they are pretty hard to poach. public park is actually pretty decent. its the site of a burton contest every june and the jumps stay pretty big, nothing under 30 ft. rails are always pretty good. lift tickets are around $45. plenty of campsites around govy area, probably check the national forest service website

living is pretty cheap, because there are lots of campgrounds, but the tickets will run you a little over 40 dollars a day.

there are campgrounds nearby. alpine is closest, but cold as hell.

airstrip is the best bet. it's about 2 miles east of govy down a gravel road. there are two other campgrounds: still creek and trillium lake right near there too.

lift tickets are pain. and sometimes (i didnt see this last year) there will be people that will check lift tickets every now and then while youre in the park to ensure that you just didn't hike up

the park isnt too shabby, and this year should be good. last year it wasn't all that difficult to fly into the rocks on jump landings

Wow thanks a lot for all your helpful responses. So Timberline has the best public park to ride? And itll cost about 45$ a day... thats a little steep, Timberlines lift tix right now are 30-something haha, oh well. I checked there website, but there wasnt much about summer riding, anyone have a link by any chance? Maybe I just missed it. I will definatley check into close campsites and prices. Staying in the nearby national forrest would be pretty sick. We dont plan on just riding the whole time were there, prolly 4-5 days out of 7. We'd like to check out all of what oregon has to offer, the forrests, ocean, Mt. St. Helens and stuff. If you guys have any more advice on sking or other stuff to check out in oregon, please let me know. Ill prolly have a few more questions for you later. Thanks again!

Even though its in Washington, its not so far away that you can't take a day and go see it. It's deffinelty possible.
