Cleaning a down jacket without a washing machine?

I have a helly hansen code down jacket that is the light tan color and it has gotten some stains on it from regular use. It also has a hole under the armpit and is leaking feathers, so i dont think washing it in a washing machine would be a good idea until i get it fixed.
Are there any like jacket cleaning products that you dont have to wash in? I am trying to get out like dirt, grease, and some small blood stains.
Thanks for the help.

actually, i was thinking of sending it in to helly hansen once im done skiing for the year because they said they can have it fixed from the warranty. it is coming apart at the seam, and most of the feathers are out of one section, so i want them to refill it so it will still be warm. also, on the tag it says do not dry clean, so i dont know what would work.

alright, thats cool, thanks for the responses. im thinking i might try just a little soap and water... that shouldnt hurt it as long as i get all the soap off.
if anyone else has done this before that would be great.
thanks again.

DO NOT PUT IT IN THE WASHER!!! i repeat do not!!!, i put mine in and had it on like delicates and shit then to dry it i put it in the dryer on AIR ONLY, only air dry downs, but dont wash it mine never fully dryed and then feathers started to clump, then mold and then the SMELL of godd, i tryed everything, putting it on the dryer for hours, hanging it off my bball hoop on a windy day and still was clumppy, its almost dry and its been almost 3 months, and the smell is rancid

sorry to hear that. did you put tennis balls in the dryer? i have washed my north face puffy a few times and if you do it right - it comes out more puffy than before you wash it. put in like 5 or 6 tennis balls to help break apart the clumps - that is what they do at drycleaners on down bags and jackets. and if needed, use your hands and pull the clumps apart and dry another round.

^^^^^oh, that sucks to have a good puffy coat messed up like that. i know it works with my north face b/c the tags say to machine wash; but, i guess i wouldn't chance it with another coat. people should prolly just spot wash if you get a stain or just live with a dirty jacket. it is deff. not worth messing up the coat.

what do you recommend spot washing with, just soap and water, or is there something specifically designed for this?

id say nothing like "OXY" or anything that says peroxcide or anything that will take the color away, use soap/detergant and water.
