Malware includes all of those sub categories you listed.

a trojan is usually a program that looks useful but has a virus attached. i rememeber backa a few years there was a winzip update, and someone had attahed a virus and named it like zipki0001.zip. the user will then download the "useful" software and think he is getting winzip. one the progrm has downloaded it is not spread or even infected the omputer. the user has to manually run the file to kick off the virus.

on the other hand, a worm is a self replicating virus that can spread without interaction. cell phones are becoming a big hit with these. bluetooth will spread the worm phone to phone just through the air. the user will do nothing and get the worm. potentially when the infected phone comes in air contact with another bluetooth it can replicate and send to the new phone.
