not fav but best and lance because he is a freak of nature designed for biking. His heart rate is sooo low and his body eprportions are incredible also he had cancer and won so many tours
michael johnson. The way he runs.. it isn't human. I mean he's retired now, but back in the mid 90s and early 90s, he was unstoppable in the 200 and 400. I don't think anybody will touch his 200 record for years
thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. yes he has became the biggest name in snowboarding but he has nothing on say terje.
The greatest athlete of all time for me is Kelly Slater. the guy is super human and on route for an 8th WCT victory. Hes already retired once, then come back and beat out all of the young 20ish surfers for another world title last year. the only perfect 20 ever scored in WCT history. Chugging beers in the pit, And over all just making surfing an extremely enjoyable sport to watch and follow.
i say simon dumont or hermaine maeir cas 1 dumont was always hella good and 2 maeir was told he may neva walk again and then he goes out and kicks pps ass's racing
I agree, Lance Armstrong is the greatest athlete. European style bike racing is the most grooling sport ever. To battle cancer and win 7 tours is a fete. Skiing also takes alot of athletisism but Lance just has to take my vote.
If I had to say my favorite athlete it would ofcourse be a skier. But this is the greatest, skiing is the best thing in the world to me. But biking is gnarly.
Best athlete is defintely not a skier or a snowboarder. Lance is a very good choice, but so is hicham el gouroujj, who ran the mile world record in 3:43. That is absolutely insane. I guarentee 80% of kids on this website couldnt keep up wiht his pace for 1 lap around the track, let alone 4.
Yeah actually Dumont is getting somewhat close to Land along with Tanner. Winning all these events coming over big injuries. And doing big backcountry trips. Along with working out and competing hurt. Also amazing park shoots. You do have to be ontop of your shit.
From th 1958 world cup to the 1970 he was the king of the Worl'd most known game. Kids World over still to this day dream about the ability to do what he did. Impecamble vision, heart and desire. 1200 career goals, and som of the most legendary plays in all of soccer history
He was also told he might have to quit his sport forever, yet he came back on top. He's always dominated in park skiing, and I think he's about to bring it in the BC, too.
You can't say skiing without thinking Tanner Hall!
rowers are increduble athletes aswell. The greatest athlete i ever met was probly will cruthers or geoff overington who were like ranked 1 and 8 in canada and i see them at the rowing club every once and a while and they are incredbly athletic
But if you said the name tanner hall to your average non skier, they wouldnt know who the hell your talking about. Woods gretzky armstrong have all become household names as the epitamy of the sports they play
but im going to be the arrogant prick who says he can actually keep pavce with him for one lap, #2 in 400m state race with a blister that covered my whole foot, and i ran a faster time earlier in the year that beat the #1 runner by a second
hands down laurant is the best "athlete" because he has soo much power in his skiing and is able to land at the bottom of all dem big jumps where others would crumple.
i think it should be some cross country skier. who the hell is in more shape than someone who goes at 110% for like 60km in the cold. talk about pushing your body to its limits..
yeah, gymnasts have to be crazy athletes too. not only do they have to be fit, but they need the strength to go with it. you ever see those dudes workin the rings? holy crap.. requires flexibility, insane strength, focus, stamina, EVERYTHING!
i keep on thinking of more as i go, haha. boxers are in crazy shape aswell. you ever have a little tiny wrestle with one of your buddieS? after like 30 seconds, you're both pretty well beat. well these guys can go for like 10 rounds of 3 minutes.. AND they have to be able to take a beating aswell. yikes..
