Just to confirm the truth about the post on "Skiing in L.A."
Mt. Baldy which is about 45 miles from Downtown Los Angeles towers over the L.A. basin at over 10,000 ft above sea level, and yes you can see the Pacific Ocean while you are skiing there. Baldy is really the only ski area where you can find real in bounds big mountain skiing, with bowls, cliff drops, and steep chutes. Mtn. High, snow Summit, and Bear Mountain all have pretty sick parks but really have no true big mountain terrain at all . FREEZE mag (rip) and Powder have featured Mt. Baldy in their mags in the Past. Freeze named it "Mountain of the Month". You can actually see the Pacific Ocean, and the Skyscrapers of Downtown L.A. on clear days. Here are a few pics of the place. We will be skiing there tomarrow.
