PE binding question

ha, scratch fs asks a question about mountin pe's. Well i usually mount things on bed and the dryer. Seriously, just go to ure local shop, they accpet pretty much every binding

I mean where on the ski there are all the +'s and -'s

They aren't labeled. Basically, the sidecut of the ski is centered at some point. At that point, there is a little line across the ski. If you feel you HAVE to decrease the carving performance and minimally increase your rail and spin stability, you can just measure forward from that point x cm. +3 indictes a mounting position 3 cm forward of where the sidecut is centered. My personal opinion is that it has a very minimal effect on the park-ability of the ski while reducing the carving effectiveness of the ski.

Now there are going to be all these people piping in here going 'mine are mounted +8 and they carve fine' but you will never know how the ski was SUPPOSED to carve because you haven't experienced it that way.

I just got mine and there is on the sidewall a center marker and then to the right and left of it there is dashes and each one has a + or - it looks like this
+3 +2 +1 Center -1 -2 -3 with lines above them. Where should I mount them?

Oh, I hadn't taken a close look at the PEs yet... they are apparently premarked then.


If they were my skis, I'd mount them at zero, because that's where the sidecut is centered.

yeah, the PE's have a scale that they put on based on the different mounting positions their team riders use. i believe mike gutt said most of the team actually mounts 3cm forward, so they just put a line there. and pep goes 5-7 cm forward.

i rode them mounted regular and 3 cm forward. 3 cm forward was Way way better. def get 3 cm forward.
