I was over punk 8th grade year and now I'm starting to appreciate it a bit again, just cause it's different than most music I listen to (I love dmb, country, and rap... and the misfits haha).
yeah punk is good as long as its 77 shit everything else like street punk sucks and rancid dropkick murphys bullshit. punk has been slaughtered too bad in these parts. but ive been wearing my stretch jeans latleey hooray.
yeaaa i was such a little punk rocker up till like 11th grade and then i was decided it was time to listen to other shit as well. but i mean, i'll always love the shit that came out of 1977 and that era...classics. i love it.
im kinda over it, also. i was super into it for a lotta years.. and then just gave in and was lie, meh... its just not all that great anymore. so.. now i listen to hippie music and classic rock and s hit. its a good change.
I used to listen to a lot of classic rock, but then I discovered metal. I've never been into punk though, seeing guys in tight jeans scream with their super high voices is kind of sad for me.
I really dont listen to any aside from Against me!, Millencolin, Buzzcocks, Bouncing Souls, Ten Foot Pole, Pulley, Spread Eagle. I like ska, 80s emocore, and old hardcore more
I was serious punk back in highschool. Mind you, I was one of those mad at the world types and punk was there to sort of quell my rage. Now I've mellowed out a little. I still like a bit of punk, more ska and alot of reggae and underground hip hop. So ya, I grew out of it. Thanks for listening.
i like punk. i like nofx and rancid. i like the ramones, and the sex pistols, but i really dont care for the velvet underground. i like 88 fingers louie, and i like strung out. i like millencolin and i like pennywise. i like punk.
start listening to garage punk, and indie. Thats what I did. im pretty tired of Bad Religion, Pennywise, Anti-Flag, NOFX, The Casualties, and all that shit.
here is some stuff that may bring new light to "punk music" for you:
We too. I love watching the people run around in circles smaking into people with spiked vests, knocking eachother out. pricless. I'll still play A global threat just to hear something different. But I can never get tired of The Adicts.
Punk used to be a music trend around the time when nelly and limp bizkit were climbing the charts (that and the era of the sex pistols and ramones around 77). only back then it wasnt punk music I was listening to. it was pop with a punk twist. I thought i was the hard corest bad ass around becasue i listened to sum 41. But as that trend died, you know what came into the lime light dont you.
I hate the bitchy punk that just screams about how the government is "putting them down" when they are no better than emo bitches. I love the Dropkick Murphys, the Ramones, and the Clash (if you call Clash punk).
hahha I was over Punk..well at least being a punk rocker in 1989! Yep I am old school...but I will always enjoy punk rock music! Much better then the crap that comes out on mtv, american idol, and pop radio.
You can never get enough of bands like Black Flag, GBH, Discharge, minor Threat, Suicidal, Germs, Adolecents, etc.. I too got into Garage and indie..and listen to all types of music now. Dub, brit trip, electronic, 60's garage..just anything at all except for teeny bop ballads.
What the hell are you blabbing about? The Casualties are the best! I went to see 2 shows and I have 3 records of them. They are one of the first hardcore punk rock bands.
You are an insult to society
im too lazy to go find the quote, but whoever was talking about punk against the government. you are an idiot... the bands singing about the government, they know what their talking about. yes its extreme. but they have their views and most of them are dead on. our government is retarded. we have bush as president dont we? go listen to any old anti-flag, the unseen, strike anywhere, or ignite album. and actually listen to it. bob dylan sang about the same stuff.
i stopped being a little street punk back sophmore year. but i have to admit. before anti-flag, and strike anywhere. and all those bands changed to basically sell out and be radio acceptable. they were amazing. we set up a show once and anti-flag/justin sane, thought riot, and strike anywhere all came and played. guys used to be so good.
