i'm a real noob when it comes to this sorta shit. what i usually do is i bring a larger picture that i want to turn into an icon into paint and just use the 'sketch and skew' tab to make it 50x50. unfortunately, most of the time the shot loses it's quality and just looks all blurry n shit. any one got a solution for me?

well if its a photograph or somethign like that you can scan it in at a different resolution. probably change the dimensions and quality and such in photoshop.

1. send pic to me
2. twiddle thumbs
3. recieve pic
4. be forever in my debt.
that, or get photoshop, or fireworks, and use the export wizards.

I always have trouble resizing regular pics so they can be small enough to be uploaded on NS. they always come out looking like shit. I have adobe CS2, and I save it as a low quality jpg, but it looks like crap.

you have to save it as a web image. Go to file - save for web, and fiddle around with it in that.

Photoshop is the best for this my picture used to be 600x800 and I made it to 50x50 and it still looks nice
