Does anybody get a pain on the ball of ure ankle, almostlike a burning sensation. I have my boots real tight so its not from them moving around. Any ideas on how to fix this. Oh and i only get it on one foot, its weird.
yeah. most people have slightly different sized feet/ankles. personally i have one foot thats 11.5 and one foot thats like 11.25, so my shoes fit differently on each foot.
ya but if i losten the buckle, then itll be too loose. This is my second season with my boots and the problem only started about a month ago and i havent changed how tight i put my boots, so im really lost at what to do
nothing, at all, i dont really notice it when i dont have my boots on unless i put pressure on it. It sorta comes and goes on my other foot but no where near the same.
i think i know what you're talking about. it happened to me occasionally in my old boots (bout 5/6 years old). I got new ones this season and haven't noticed it yet.
I never figured out what did it, mabye try diff. socks?
this same thing happened to me - left ankle ball, burning sensation, at first it felt like a rock in my boots or like my canting screw was cutting through the liner and scrapping my ankle. almost couldn't walk at the end of the day. tore the boot apart and found nothing wrong, not to mention they are heat molded and dialed to my feet. went to see the doc after 3 weeks of skiing pain and found out i have tendonitis. there is a tendon that runs right over your ankle ball and it has to go through a sheath. if the tendon gets overworked or with age - it becomes inflamed, can't slide smoothly through the sheath, and causes pain like you are describing. might not be tendonitis if you are real young, but it is a possability. if you do have tendonitis - pm me and let me know what your doc says or if you have any questions. good luck with it.
well hopefully its not tendonitis like ^ said. if its a fit issue, which it sounds like it is, go to a bootfitter. you might just be able to put a donut pad around that spot on your ankle, which will more evenly distribute the pressure. thats what i did to my dad's boots and he hasnt had any problems since. hopefully that works for you as well.
by the way, it only happens in my boot or if my ankle has pressure around it. after a day of skiing, put your fingers on the ball of your ankle and rotate it. if it feels creeky, this might be your problem.
