they're probably not adjusted to your boot properly. you shouldn't prerelease on an 8 unless you're a big ass dude. take it to a shop, they'll probably adjust it for free.
Take them to a shop, tell them they're realesing all over the place, they'll tighten the wing and pressure down, and maybe even bump up the DIN or readjust it to your boot....it happens with Salomons, it's not a secret.
This is not an issue of taking them to a shop. I just need to get my din right. I weigh 130 and im a high level skier. I need my skis to not pop off on me when i keep doing rails, boxes and hitting the knuckle of jumps.
Basically all i need to know for this bindings is should i have my din high or low?
i have those same bindings on my lines and have the same problem i have set my dins up to the max and still pop out i think that it is due to the lifter just get new bindings
I think there is a little window on the heel piece under the part where you push to release. When you have your boot in there, the the marker should move inbetween the window. I have the px12's and supposedly this is the same for salomon bindings as well. Also, the window i am talking about is not the din window.
yeah people have had some serious problems with the 810s. i think it's the stupid wings.. personally, i use 912s and have had no trouble at all, but take em to a shop and get that shit checked out bro
Im not fuckin takin them to a shop. Im only gonna go up prolly 5 more times this season and then im ditching my setup and getting a new one for next year. All i want to know is where i should set my din at. I dont give a damn about forward and downard pressure. All my shits good i just need to know what my damn din should be.
if you are 130.. your din should be at like 6... 7 max hows that for a suggestion?
if your forward or downward pressure isnt right then you will have issues... forward pressure is the most important adjustment on these bindings... they are very adjustable and react alot with different boots... get em checked dont be a dumbass
seriously, it wont matter where your din is set if your forward pressure or toe wings are set wrong. For christ's sake, you could have s916's with the din at 15 and if your forward pressure isnt set right, you'll still pop out going off a roller. now stop being a dumbass. read my post earlier, and check your fucking forward pressure. Then set your toe wings so they are tight with your boot.
if you dont want to take them t an actual shop some resorts have a repairs counter. they might do it for you. at my resort all the guys are pretty good with that stuff.
Seriously man, don't be a dick. People are right when they say that you should get your bindings checked out by a shop for forward pressure, toe height, and toe cup width.
It's already been said what your suggested DIN should be, but that's useless unless the rest of your binding is set up correctly. Besides, you might learn a thing or two talking to a shop tech.
that doesnt make sense at all. why would it be a 10 din binding if you cant set your din to 10? and the guy who started this thread. don't be a douche man, just go to the shop like everybody is telling you. its not gonna cost you anything, and you'll have a good binding for the last 5 or so days you say you will ride this year
hell you don't even have to take them into a shop, the damn rental place at your local mountain will probably do this for you in like 5 minutes if they aren't too busy, just do it then.
There's just no more room for the spring to move when you're at the top DIN of the binding. In other words, the spring is compressed a lot.
Bindings are still supposed to work properly no matter what end of the DIN range you're at, but to preserve the life of your binding, it's suggested that you buy a binding where the middle of the DIN range is approximately the same as your suggested setting.
810s will do that, but they are a really light binding too. my dins are at 10 and i pop off only if i fall real hard at odd angles. also crank your wings in too, so ur boot is snugger
yeah. if the springs inside the binding are either at maximum or minumum tension, it's not good for the binding. your din setting should always be somewhere around the middle of the binding's range.
so, if you're a light fella and want your dins around 6 or 7, get a 4-10 binding
if you want your dins around 7-9, get a 4-12 binding
if you're a big mofucka and need your dins around 10 or something, get a 6-14 binding.
you should rarely need dins any higher than that unless you're going to be hitting like 90footers and are a really big guy. your bindings certainly wouldn't release, but i'd be more worried about my knees having the bindings set too high than stomping a landing
which is probably why salomon's 810s (4-10 din range) have such a bad rep, because people crank their dins to the max, and when the bindings wear out and pre-release, they blame the bindings for being shitty.
actually, the 810s might be 3-10.. doesn't matter anyways. don't max out your dins and don't buy a px14 if your din is going to be set to like a 6 or 7. it might be the cool thing to do to have a higher end binding, but you do not need it!
conversely, don't buy a high end binding and set your din at 10 if you only need it at 7 or something. your knees are going to be very mad at you if you ever take a hard bail.

sorry for being a dick... but 20 people gave you the SIMPLE answer... the simplest of the simple, dont mess with it yourself cuz you don't have a clue...
its really not that hard to do it yourself. Maybe your friend's dad can show you so you can do it yourself next time. It's just simply there is more to adjusting bindings than just the din.
