Any of you guys listen to BJM? Recently I have been really getting into their shit after getting the movie Dig! I really really dig their stuff a lot. You can tell BJM (& Antone) have some great influences, sounds very Velvet Underground-esque with hints of Dylan mixed with the Clash. I think "Give It Back" is my favorite album of theirs right now but I haven't really gotten a chance to listen to every album yet. You can get their ENTIRE discography on their website or from www.isohunt.com (has MP3's). Even if you download their tunes be sure to pick up a cd or two if you really dig because these guys are pretty goddamn impressive and definately worth supporting.

as soon as i saw the thread topic i was gonna reply, you just watched DIG! didn't you? but you answered that question, so yeah. um, they are a good band, i liked them after seeing that movie too.

i saw them a couple months back. i went to see an onstage fight, but unfortunately was just treated to a damn good show.

Yea I actually saw Dig a few months ago, made a thread about it then and whatnot but decided to make a thread dedicated to BJM. Interestingly the other day we had a guest lecturer in one of my classes the other day who was an audio technician and we started talking and he was actually part of BJM circa 2001-2003. He wasn't actually in the movie though. I've heard alot of things concerning the movie, especially concerning the validity of the end of the movie. And in case your wondering Antone is definately NOT "still sober".

or you could be into a band because theyre reall good, not because of some goofy movie...

and bjm being influenced by the clash?  use your ears dummy.  bands like love sculpture and the nazz influenced bjm a hell of a lot more than the clash's reggae/punk fusion...cant even begin to see the correllation there.

i guess thats what i get when i finally decide to see what people think of one of my favorite bands...a bunch of people who listen to them because of that fucking movie that made anton look like a douche rather than the musical genius that he is.
