the main to being sponsored is getting FREE shit, generally shops cant afford to just giveaway their stuff, so if you get shop sponsored you still have to pay for it, just discountsssss

that's why they want you in competitions to show off their gear and stuff.
So they actually have a rise in sales if they have good skiers, and they can afford to do give away "free shit".
