does anyone else just accept that what they think doesnt matter, realize our president is funny, laugh a little, turn of the tv and go to bed a happy person? I am an incredibly non-political person and realize some of you may be very political and have high aspirations to try to change things in the realm of politics and more power to you, but.... for the rest of you, do you really not care? I personally just think being this age sucks ass. So many people talk about shit that obviously doesn't matter and then get pissed when others don't care. I'm in college right now, so i'm obviously meeting an unbelievable amount of politically driven young people, but it just seems like such bullshit. I'm a well educated male from california and if forced to vote for a major party would vote democrat, yet i really dont give a shit. arnold for our governor? hell yes, i'm not makin a difference, would i rather sit back and entertain myself with the speeches of a former foreign/action-movie star than get my panties in a twist by actually listening to anything he says and disagreeing? fuck yeah. have all my friends who get pissed off by "that stupid republican blah blah" changed anything? fuck no. do i think i'm a happier person than they? yeah, i do.
so anywaysss..... i'm just seein how many people i can find who share the same, apothetic, views as I (even if youre not from the US but get a laugh out of us).
I really don't care about debate, so if you strongly disagree for any reason , there really isn't a need to post... if you do i'll either just give up and say you win or not respond at all and this thread will die almost immediately...
or if you do... let me know cause i'm interested, or maybe just join my perhaps soon to be created. "haha, i dont give a shit, lets just sit back and laugh as we fuck up" cult.

apathy doesn't make our president "fuckin awesome" by any means.
but i agree with you to an extent. partisanship blows, and that's why i care less and less every day. just like you.

Actually, I kind of feel the same way you do. I'm not very poitical, so meh. I watch, what happens happens. Most of it doesn't directly effect me, and the other stuff I really don't care about. I'm just a really passive person who doesn't feel really strongly about things such as abortion and gay right. I should probably feel differently, but there are so many other things I have to deal with on a daily basis...

at the age of 18 and finishing up high school and worrying about college soon, the LAST thing on my mind right now is politics. So until it effects me directly, politics are not gonna be something I really care about. I always laugh inside my head when I read this clip in some magazine where this kid probably around 12 years old says, "I love Green Day's political views towards Bush, Fuck Bush!" I just love how media shapes what we all think lol.

I can sit back and laugh at his jokes, but when his fucks up are costing thousands of peoples lives and endangering our country/world's future...it's hard to just sit back and laugh.

so your point is ignorance is bliss? it's been said before. just be thankful there are enough people out there who arent so lazy. if they werent watching your back arnold and george would royally fuck you while you were sitting back enjoying their entertainment value.

Just because someone says they aren't into politics or whatever doesn't mean they don't value human lives. I feel there's a reason why our leaders are the leaders of our country. All politics are propaganda, trying to sway your opinion your way. What I want/need are straight up facts- and face it, the Bush administration probably know a little bit more about what's goign on over there than the typical Newschooler. Our opinions can differ from Bush's, and that's what makes the USA what it is.

are you trying to say that the bush admin was correct in their decision to invade iraq over WMDs... because well... we all know how many of those we've found there.

i understand you not being interested in politics, but caring about what goes on is very different. it's really sad that we are trying to spread democracy throughout the world when so many people in our own country could care less about it. people are dying all the time all the time around the world for the right to vote, and i'm not just talking about our soldiers, and you're talking about being "forced to vote". your ignorance is kind of pathetic if you ask me, you dont have to be a liberal or conservative in order to inform yourself and vote for someone that will help things where they need to be helped. it's really the least you could do.

We march around the world screaming about democracy, but the fact that 99% of congress got reelected even though they only have an approval rating of 37% proves that we arent practicing what we preach. How could we be a domacracy if our president has and approval of 45% and congress 37? The numbers just dont add up, and they prove that the status quo is not working and needs to change. The only way these changes are going to happen is if our generation cares, and get pissed off and worked up. How the hell are we supposed to maintain our status as a world power if the rising generation doesnt even care enought to vote?
