i don't know about racers, but I saw some kid at a comp. early one year at Sunday River try a back off a mid-sized hit. He looked like he had never tried one and looked straight up at the sky going off the jump. He broke his neck

Racers have a strong background and know skiing and do make some of the best skiiers.
But if the cocky arrogant racers that can't hit jumps worth shit want to try throwing a backflip I say let them. Who am I to stop them?

well, as for racers doing tricks in general, its funny to watch. But what is the difference between a racer attempting a back flip, and a kid who is on his first day of twin tips. I mean ya, all injurys in skiing suck, but it doesnt really matter who pulls the trick, as long as they can do it safely, then by all means go ahead. Sure there has to be a point where you as a skiier has to step it up a notch in trick development, but its all about development, build up the the back flip, rather than start with it.

a lot of the top pros nowadays were racers...jf, jp, vinnie, jon, mikey d, many many more...and racers make the best skiers because they have to be. they have better form and technique.

rossi900- your an idiot. A ton of the top skiers today came from racing. If racers didn't do flips you wouldn't have Jon, Morrison, or any of those guys. Its not whether you race or not, its if you have skill. Like someone said above...the same thing can happen to some kid on his first day out on twins. Bottom line is no one should try flips if they aren't ready. The only faggots I see whining about racing are the ones who suck at skiing and have ot somehow justify they're being a 'jibber' so they bash racing. People do what they do and thats it....stop ruining this sport from the inside out.

haha...generally the racers at our mountain have no respect for newschool skiing and are complete jackasses to us. sure some of the best skiiers come from racing, but only a handful. the rest want to have no part with us and want to keep skiing all for themselves. Like i said, this is just at my resort, and not all the racers are like that, but enough are to give me a negative attutude towards em.

My brother is a racer. He had done backflips before, but he tried one one day, and threw it all weird and ended up hitting his head on the back of the lip. He got a concussion and didnt remember aything for like two days- Kinda funny kinda scary

there is a shitty little mountain out here and all of skiers there race. but most of them have twin tips too. i was there a couple weeks ago and out of nowhere this kid with his pants tucked into his boots lookin all goofy throws a smooth ass backflip. i know a couple of the other guys are doin nice 7s and 9s and one even spins 10. they all have style too. they are all pretty chill kids too. i rode with two of them at mt. snow yesterday. it just goes to say not all racers are peterpuffers. stop sterotyping people.

one of my friends broke his leg b/c of a racer he was on a rail and a racer hit the kicker at the begining of the rail. the racer hit the tip of my friends skiis sending him forward and breaking his leg he was out for 8 weeks b/c of it

I'm a racer... my whole team is really laid back and we all like tricks.
Me and one other guy throw down bigger and do better tricks than alot of the twintipper-only kids at the mountain and they still write 'racers are faggots' in our starting huts. SO those racers that you think are arrogant? maybe its just because you're being a punkass to them because they wear atomic 9'22s.

my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.
