people also gotta understand that pierre just dropped a 245 footer, a great accomplishemnt in its self. BUt pierre Front Flipped a 210. Holy shit, this guy is either crazy, or jsut really good
i meant to say carr...O wait i didnt read the first post.....too bad i made it u fuckin idiot..i made a mistake...how about u read hte first post...cuz i fuckin wrote it
I have footage of the 140ft cliff. go to www.skivids.com and click on Biglines.com, comp, footage, snowbird ut. it is a fucking crazzy cliff. you can not really see that he is doing a lawn dart though
Balls matter? Sure, but landings matter a lot more. It's one thing to be stupid enough to throw yourself off a cliff, but it's a whole other thing to be able to LAND IT.
Go watch Seth drop a 60 footer. Or, go watch Hugo Harrison drop shit while skiing at mach 10. Then tell me landings don't matter and that it's all about balls and how high you huck yourself from. Guys like Hugo and Seth keep it fucking legit, and if they don't stick their landings, they don't count it.
I hate to say it, but landings matter. Landing is, in fact, an important part of every trick, jump, or cliff huck.
^ yeah thats the thing. When you are jumping off stuff that big, its next to impossible to ride away. If you are under a 10 foot bombhole, its gona be kind of tough to ski out of that.
Its not that they dont have the skill to ride away, its gravity and physics.
What I meant to say is that some drops are just impossible to ski away from. Ones that are possible to ski away from, by all means do it, its much better to watch. But its a bit hard to ski away from a 10 ft bombhole or flat landing.
I think what some poeple are trying to say here is that it doesn't take any skill to jump a cliff and not ski away from it.
It only takes balls.
Now, hucking off smaller cliffs that it's POSSIBLE to ski away from, is a different story, you have to have skills to keep your feet under you and take the impact without losing skis.
But when it gets down to it, Hucking a 300 ft cliff is just as impressive as a 200ft cliff. It will be the exact same thing, just a slightly longer fall.
And if you think about it.. Yeah Carr did a front flip.. but didn't Pierre also go inverted (on accident)? In fact, Pierre landed on HIS HEAD! So flipping and "tricking" isn't as crazy as it sounds.. It's like doing a flip when you're skydiving. It's adds flare, but you're still gonna land the same.
Logic: you can't land a 200fter, then you can't land a 300fter. It takes NO SKILL to jump off a ledge and sit in the air fora few seconds while you wait to hit the snow.
Sometimes you may hit harder than others, but the real skill is landing.
I do not doubt this...befor that 140 footer at snowbird, he did a 150-160 footer at alta a few times...julian is the man and has caused a lotta buzz this season
Yeah, that was so fucking nuts. Even if its not as big as Jamie's, it beats the shit out of it cause he skied into it, had a big slough spill off of it, and friggin flipped it. So sick.
