Poles vs. No Poles

What's everyone think about skiing w/o poles? I think it's fruity but that's just me. And what's up w/ pollard skiing w/o them in Stereotype? i haven't seen it but that's what i heard

sorry everybody... I DON'T USE POLES!---
and i'm not a skiboarder. and i don't sit on my ass in the park all day.
unless you're skiing bumps or powder, i see no point in just dragging them behind like most people do. it's a free feeling to go without poles- ski backwards, forwards, slide rails... and never have the poles in the way. i can see why they're nice for balance, but i feel like i've acquired much better balance by not relying on them.

their not for balance, they are to unweight yourself, which is important to do in technical terrain, but is not so much a big deal in groomers or in the park... but if you know how to properly use poles, why not ski with them all the time?

I don't seem to recall saying that you should plant your pole when you spin or that I myself do, which I don't, I'm simply saying that if it works for arguably the best skier in the world than it can't be all wrong. Candide's 'crutch' doesn't seem to have caused him too much difficulty thus far.
