Hey, I have the 1080 boot and was wondering if anyone has had the plastic 'v' cut done to soften them and what kind of difference it made for you. Does it decrease turning performance, help with landings, shin bang, etc.??? I don't want to fuck up my boots but my shins need any help I can give em.

i have yellow teneightys (original ones) and got the v cut a couple days ago, and I find that on landings where i would used to get shin bang, i dont get it so bad. but if i land really back seat than any boot would give me shin bang. so, if you have yellow ones cut out the v. if you have newer ones, don't, because they are already soft as balls.

Theyre pretty soft already, I dont know why youd want to do that? It would probably make it harder to ski all around to.

They are pretty soft but my fukkin shins are screaming right now - I can only do two days before I have to take at least 3-4 days off. I don't land backseat anymore really - I've fixed that issue, and I buckle them as tight as I can without putting both feet to sleep.

change your sock or something, because its a really soft boot..its like a x-waves 7.when you cut it, it doesnt work as well as before...the boot wont come back to its original position naturally...

shin bang happens from tearing a muscle right under your shins. This muscle is used to lift the front of your foot up and it must be torn now. Find some steps, stand on the edge of a step only on your heels, and try to raise up the front of your foot. Do this whenever you can and do it until you can feel that muscle get tired. I had the same problem, but after some stretching its not as bad.

also about the muscle it could be due to a foot bed that doesn't fit your foot properly
