I just bent the shit out of my new Scott ace of spades! I've only used them twice and i don't even know how I bent them. Why are poles so damn expensive anyway. You'd think that an $80 pole would hold up for a while
I feel ya, thats why I buy 25$ poles and just bend them back whenever I take a bad spill, I've had the same poles for two seasons now and they are the shit. My whole setup is sparkling and my poles look like something they would refuse at the dump.
i bought some scott silencers or whatever the all black ones were called like 2 years ago and these fuckers are still straight and perfect after soooo much abuse
fuck carbon poles man, they bend and maintain their shape through quite a few crashes but once you break one in a crash and see the fuckedup jagged creature that remains, you arn't going to feel safe with them. I almost killed myself with a carbon pole afew years ago, I crashed onto it in the park and there was literraly two jagged swords sticking out of the ground after I landed. Fuck that noise
i dunno, i think its worth it to buy really nice poles. i have some that were around 90 bucks cdn. and i cut them from like 125cm down to about 105cm and i havent bent them in three years now. i kind of bent it last week, but you cant really notice.
ya i got some 20$ scott poles and ya theyre bent but it doesnt matter as much since i didnt pay much. i bet u can buy some rental poles from a ski shop
Haha, retard. Tourists are going to end up paying for 95% of the stolen shit. And who actually buys food at a resort anyway? (tourists (or people that have money to waste and would buy poles anyway)0
I never said that. I just wanted to point out that you were wrong to suggest that a local skier is going to end up paying more money at the resort because some of the local skiers steal $10 poles.
No poles are stolen from a rental shop for 5 years. The owner makes more money and finds he has excess to spend. He experiments with drugs and is eventually addicted to heroin and dies in an argument with his supplier.
Ya I've already gone through three pairs this year. I just go a huge sports center store and get poles, cuz all the people there in the ski department dont know crap and I get them for ten bucks because they don't have baskets and they are sick poles
i hac some nice adjustable ones but the got stoled and the next day stupid chailift stopped suddently, swung back and bent the fuck out of my other pair
yeah man just buy some real cheapos... i got mine for $20 and have had them foe 4 years i just bend them back when they feel like bening on me... and this weekend i jsut found some ill scott poles super old they're sick
You make me laugh!!! you think we pay $7 a hamburger and $50 a lift ticket because of 10-30 pairs of rental poles being stolen in a year (at most)..... Nope it's to give the Executives that extra fireplace in their houses and helicopter transportation everywhere. It's like taking a bag full of hot sauce from Taco Bell... everyone does it!
i have a pair of two odd poles that i got from ski rentals last season(last day) for two bucks, they have been bent everyway like 100 times but they never old so they are sick, i figure they are from the 80s and have bright pink baskets, 1 pink griopm, 1 lime green grip
