I ve been thinking about moving there. Can you help me with the pros and cons of living there. Im used to skiing a lot of park but want to get into more big mountain skiing. Are there chilling people to ride with and whats the city like?
^ if you want to hike, big plans in the works for revelstoke, but right now its just the lower half of the mountain which sucks cause its wet and there isn't much snow, go to revelstoke with skins or wait the year or two before the mountain expands for the mean time you might as well go to golden /kickinghorse
kelownas cool..summer is the best time to be there. big white's skiing isnt very challenging for like big mountain shiat and they dont have alot of pow days, when they do they're nice but where isnt a pow day nice.
I'm in Kelowna right now, and it's pretty much a lake, a bunch of strip malls on the side of what they call a "highway", which really means a divided 4 lane road with a 70 km/h speed limit (qualifying it as NOT a highway), and lots of hot 15 year old girls that look like they're 22. And seemingly everyone here owns a $60 000 wakeboard boat. So if you're into slutty young girls(I prefer sluts in their 20s), strip malls and big box stores, lakes, wakeboarding (assuming you own a ridiculously expensive boat), and skiing big white, which they should really call Small Whiteout, because it's small and always foggy, you'll LOVE Kelowna. But make sure to have a car, otherwise you ain't gettin' anywhere in this town.
1. who cares if it has a highway or not ?
2. im 16, so teenage girls are fine by me
3. i dont own a wakeboard boat
4. we have a mall... but who gives a fuck about shopping anyways you girl...
6. there are much worse mountains than big white, im happy with what i got and am not a little bitch. and yeah its foggy, so what ?
7. i skipped number 5
8. your right, the bus system kinda sucks and cabs are expensive... cars are needed.
I agree. And not to generalize.. but people from kelowna are the by far the rudest people I have ever experianced. Too much money in too small of a city.
well...considering like 90% of the people posting here have only been to kelowna in the crazy tourist season and don't even live here, i wouldn't listen really to them. it's a sick place to live. its growing really fast so theres alot of bigger city amenities, plus you have the lake, and 2 mountains within an hour away. if you really want, just pm me with any questions. kelowna isnt as bad as people say it to be...
Ill second that....I moved here at Christmas from Onterrible...Lake is sick, town has everything you need. Plus its packed with ultra hot chicks everywhere...what more can you ask for?
