ill file the edge from about 1 inch infront of the toe piece to 1 inch behind the heel piece just enough so they dont catch on rails. for waxing, set the iron so the wax melts but doesnt smoke and iron the wax in untill the topsheet starts to warm. once this happens, stop waxing, let the skis cool, scrape them, and buff them.

so yeah to detune your edges get a gummy stone a diamond stone and a bastard file. first go over the edge you want to detune like under the foot and on the tips and tails go over them first with the gummy stone then go over it with a diamond stone and then go over it with the bastard file. to wax you need an iron and some wax and a scarper. first put the iron on a temperature where the wax melts fairly easily then touch the bar of wax to the iron and let it drip drip the wax all over your ski enough so when you spread it out it will cover the entire base then iron in the wax go in circle to start to get the wax all spread around then go back and forth slowly to smooth out the wax dont go too slowly so that your bases bubble this would be very bad. then while you do it to the other ski let the first ski cool after you finish applying the wax to the second ski scrape the first one. when you pull the scraper down hold it at an angle to the base and after that smooot it out with like a paper towel or something
