The teams are judged on synchronization, distance spacing, style and technique, roundness, symmetry and fall line. The winners of the adult competition will receive a trip to Lake Louise to compete in the Nationals on March 15, 2003 with an opportunity to make it to the World Championships at Mike Wiegle’s in Blue River, B.C. Junior Powder 8 prizing includes merchandise and Fernie Alpine Resort ski programs.

Registration for Juniors is $40.00 per team prior to Thursday, February 20 with late registration of $45.00 per team accepted until 9:00 am on the day of the event.
Fresh snow has fallen just in time for the event. Over 40cm (15.75 inches) have fallen in the last 48 hours and the forecast calls for more snow to fall this week.
“Riders and skiers enjoyed great powder conditions for the holiday weekend,” “The forecast looks good as Environment Canada’s report says with cooler artic air at the surface and the moisture coming in from the west, the elements will be in place for significant snowfall.”
