I was on a box today and there was a screw loos and i hit it and it took a chunk out of my bas to the foam core 2cm long and 1 cm wide. i dont no if i should take it in to the shop or just buy some ptex and do it myself. wil the shop do a good job? probably, but really affect my ski will it??? i dont wanna ride till its fixed in fear of getting stuf in the hole
well if you dont have much experience with p-tex, id suggest bringing it into a shop. it is very possible to do a botched p-tex job, and the p-tex could fall out, etc.
most shops do a decent job with repairs. some better than others.
your situation isnt all that bad, but a shop could easily take care of that
if its a core shot, standard drip candle ptex wont work. regular ptex doesnt bond to core or edge material, you need to use this stuff called metal grip, which is ptex mixed with adhesive. if you dont have that stuff and a base welder, bring them to a shop to get fixed.
u say there was a loose screw on the box ... complain to the mtn and they will give you new skis if there box had a god damn screw sticking out of it u could sue those bastards
