i think there have been a couple of threads on this but im not sure so dont hold me too it. I guess id say wait till next year and the spats will be huge!!
Oh shit I didnt even read the 115 in the tip. It should be more like a 123. I've never skied Spats, so I wouldn't know, but hopefully they do something more than what you mentioned.
MANY of these "so-called" prototype siting are actually handmade skis...In tahoe there are at least two guys making quality handmade spatula type skis....a very close friend has pressed out atleast 8-pairs this season...and the majority of us used to ski spatulas and all of us ride squaw and alpine every pow day....Odds are that many of these tahoe area "sitings" are handmade skis....there may be some prototypes floating around from other companies...but when you look at the early crowd at Alpine or Squaw (of whom many of us are "sponsored" skiers) many of us now have blank or plain top-sheet skis which are one-offs by friends
the spats were fucking metal and fiberglass.. because armada uses sooo much metal for there skis, obviously there not gonna have patent issues because there different materials,, i hope it happens so i dont have to buy bacons next year.
yep. i'm sure McConkey wouldn't mind making a buck on the side and allowing a company to try its hand at improving his idea. he seems more interested in the progression of the sport than making sure no one ever produces a ski like the Spat.
All I'm saying is that I ain't doubting any of this speculation, and the patents can be stepped around, not by construction materials, but for other reasons which I will not share.
A powder specific ski, reverse sidecut(widest part of the ski is the waist), reverse camber(for better float). That's pretty much all I know about them since I have no need to even look into riding them.
this is such a joke- if u read the article, the guy asked what kind of skis are those, the man on the skis repyls armadas... and suddenly im supposed to believe armada is makin spatula type skis. this belongs w/ the armada race skis thread.
