sad but true the local hill that i ski at does not have a terrain park. we are stuck with building our own jumps and upkeeping them. finally this year there has been some talk that next year we will be able to maybe get one. the problem is that no one has a clue on what to build or what to set up. so they have asked me and my friends. i have know problem building the rails becuase me and my friends have axsis to a welder and a pipe bender. but the jumps on the other hand need someone that knows what there doing like with the snow guns and the groomer. so my question is, is there any plans or blue prints on how to make tables, step downs or any other jumps that these idoits that run the hill could understand.
same situation at my hill, but onyl we dont have any plans of making a park, we just make kickers (40ft stepdowns, really shitty) but basically just set the snowguns up and make HUGE piles of snow in the general area of the "park" then form them into samller piles of the individual jumps, then work on the flat part, then the landing, and finally the takeoff, dont know much about rails though
ya ride on is all our resort it sucks cause our old**** thnk god he wants to make parents happy and all we did is complain and our biggest jump is 20 feet but its like 5 feet after our pipe and the jumps are nice except the landing they are flat so its so hard to land a spin like i did a 7 up at a different hill but can even 5 here cause of the landings
make a big pile of snow and then work it into a jump! make a nice smooth take off and a killer landing make sure that their is plenty of room to get speed to clear it. so dont make a 70 footer for your first jump at the top of the park. after you work with the jump a few times by hand then a groomer can just come and touch stuff up but ypu have to buoild most of it by hand. for rails just stick them into the ground and then make smooth ramps that lead up to them. make sure to leave room on both sides of the rail because some people hit it on either sides. sounds like a sweet project and i hope you have fun doing it
