yes you would die if you where in there and it reached 188db's like they say it can you would die. it would be like you instantly being 300 feet under water with tons of presure on every inch of your body and then being out in space with all the air in your body sucked out of you. and this would be happening at like 30 times a second.... youd be dead...

my friend is really big into car audio and he competes. he said anything over 180 would kill you. he has seen a video of someone dying cause the woofer hit 180. pretty damn impressive though.
