is it better to buy cheaper poles in case they break then there cheap to replace, or is it better to buy expensive poles and just hope they break less? like are some of the better poles that much stronger?

okay, how do you guys steal rental poles? is it cause they dont ask for your driver's license or something when you rent them?? at my hill, they do, so i guess theres another way?

i bought a pair of scott filter poles like 3 yrs ago...they have this weird semi-triangle shaped tubing...theyre tough as shit

just walk in and take them, and if they look at you on your way out just say "oh, I broke my poles (having a broken pole helps your case), can I borrow (key word is borrow) a pair for the day?".

Or just take them and walk. I've never (ever) had issues with taking rental poles.
I mean really - who pays for poles?

Yeh take some from the rentals, and if u want to buy some dont buy poles for 100 bugs cause that aint worth it. U can find good poles for like 20 dollars or less

haha, you walk in, you dont rent the poles, you steal them, keyword there is steal so:

1) Walk into rental shop

2) Approach targe with caution (poles)

3) Snag (do not grap or take or grasp), you must snag the poles

4) You walk out of the rental shop

5) Use the stolen goods

I've always got cheap poles knowing that I'd bend or break them and have gone through more than one pair every season up til now. I got some carbon Kerma ones this year cheap though and they're holding up to some big falls so far.

ya i just steal them they dont even care just take them on the rental shop or take some rentals outside when people r inside eat or sumthing

dont be hood rich and steal... go to a ski swap or garage sale and pick up some poles for $5... make sure that the poles u get are aluminum not steel...the steel ones are a little heavier and tend to break you before breaking... aluminum ones will bend in a bad fall and u can just bend them back.. if u use the money to by nice carbon fiber or fiberglass or whatever poles they seem to break where an aluminum pole will bend. if u bend those materials and they stretch past there natural stretch point they snap

rather than stealing them fron the rental shop...why dont you just steal them from the retards who rent. they all go to lunch cause its their favorite part of the day. so when they go sit down. snag em off the rack. normally the mountain has a specific like pole color or design...so its not hard to spot em. better then getting caught in the rental shop.
