1) Pre-Claiming - which may takeTake place the anytime before the event to-be-claimed – ex. “I am so fucking rad, next week, I am gonna nail that 75-foot fdf rail and 450 out…I rule!”
2)The next form of claiming takes place right before actually attempting your jump/stunt – ex. Standing all cool above the jump and making sure everyone on the lift or in the park knows that you rule and are going to hit that bitch. Appropriate comments here would be “come on that kid is so slow, I need to hold me speed from here to clear that jump…I hope the landing is not fucked up…etc…” sometimes clapping your poles together loudly also helps….
Next comes the actual Jump Claim…As soon as you land you yell out “I rule” or “did you see me?” other variations include immediately asking if your friend got the shot or checking yourself on the camera before your next run.
Finally there is Re-Claiming – This sad event occurs after the said jump/stunt…ex “you should have seen me hit that jump last week I nailed that spread eagle…I am gnar!) This form of claiming is usually done to make oneself seem cool when interrupting someone else’s story.
ice cream? that could be good, you gotta put syrup on the PB still tho. and I always thought claiming was like,"Yeah I would do a switch 9 off that but the snow is just too slow today"
that is a claim. on the hill common forms of claiming are landing something and then throwing your hands into the air, or immediately looking at ur friends/camera to see if they saw what you just did.
you can claim a run or something like pete olenick did for the open, where you just say, or claim, what you are going to do. Or you can do some form of celebration after doing some sweet trick
