well i ski bird like once a year when i go out west and personally i dont really use the tram. First of all i dont like the extra cost and you can reach all that stuff from little cloud and gad 2 has better stuff anyway. Which sucked cause gad2 was closed this year when i went and there was all that unaccesible powder in the trees

First of all, dont act like losing the tram is not a bid deal, cuz to us locals it is!! so fuck you (in a nice way).
and secondly that did suck when gad2 was down. thats also my lift!! but one day i hiked over there from little cloud and it was glorious, GLORIOUS

the tram is sweet, but its sort of gay how exclusive it is...even for locals don't ypu have to work at the bird for like 3 years to gain access. they definately shouldn't take it out, but altas better anyways...go there

^ shits gay if u ask me. and yes it is an extra fee, and its totally not worth it if your going to ski on sats and fri's plus holidays. BUT if you ski sunday-thursday, the tram is a glorious one way ticket to the top-no stops along the way. Too bad for bird :'(

eh..the im not a big fan of the tram. I always take it once in the morning to get to the top and its likea cattlecar, where u stand really close to other people uncomfortably for 5 minutes. Once on the top i try to take trails that don't require use of the tram since its more of a hassle.
The good thing about it is how its a nice warm ride up, but other than that i find it a nusance.

Jackson is taking theirs out because it is old, and out dated. And i am fron indiana, and my frist day out west i rode the tram, so there aren't any "exclusive" things to it that i know of. But whatever.. .it better not close, because i have a trip scheduled there for the end of this month.

From what I've heard they are just thinking that the tram isn't going to last forever, and that it will be around at the very most another ten years. Their whole new, longer Peruvian lift and tunnel to Mineral thing is going to help serve as a replacement for when the tram craps out.

uhhh... what are u talking about, when i go out west all i ski is pow. The best pow you'll find is off to the sides and/or back country... not from the tram

but obviously you can ski pow without a tram, just look at alta. Theres tons of great terrain and snow without a tram
