i dotn know about anyone anywhere else, but i can have the hardest, worst crash ever and the only thing thatll happen is ill crush the hell out of my right thumb, and thats it! cant bend it but halfway..my guess is its got soethin to do with poles .... anyways... does it happen to anyone else -

You guys are lucky, I always kill myself in ways I never would have thought possible and my thumbs are fine but the rest of me (my head, shoulder, back, and ankle) is fucked!

don't worry. it'll catch up to you.

Unfortunately, you never know when injuries are coming your way. I never broke a bone or got any real injuries until last year, and since then it's just been stacking up - one after the other.

Be safe and not stupid - and maybe you'll keep away from the hospital

the thumb i think i think is the weirdest injury, who would think after some nasty crash it would be your thumb, instead of your knee or arm...

i dont know whats wrong with me but i never ever hurt my self on bails, and i take some huge bails. last week at blue hills i didnt uncross my skis on a mute 3, so i landed with them crossed and the bottom one ripped me a new asshole while the other popped off and hit me right in the face while i landed hard as hell on hard packed ice, and i was absolutley fine

thumbs are one of the most dominate injuries in skiing along with wrists even more so than knees mainly because when you fall you try to catch yourself with your hands and since your thumb is the 'awkward' finger its the first to go.
