like this f*cker the other day, snowplowing through the park on invaders then hitting the lip for the ride on box in a racing tuck. Like, for f*cks sake??
dude my mountain too, you would think that a parent would be smarter than to bring thier little kids (some of them are even on leashes) into the park where they can easily get hurts, let alone piss people off, especially when theres like 30 other trails they could take the kids
i dont really mind people riding the park as long as they dont get in the way or fuck stuff up... nvm they always do that. park passes are the way to go
oh man when i was at shawnee something like 5 little girls rode to the top of the kicker on the 30 footer and stopped, sliding back down and completely demolishing the lip. i was rip shit.
same here but let me tell you...there is no stopping snowboarders who go of lips and the racers who think there all that because they hit the box straigt on...i rmeber a week ago... a girl was in the park with thalls and she was doing the pizza down the hill...crazy people out there
yah if the littles kids cant even get to the top of the jump they shouldnt be there, but dont underestimate them.Like me people think im a poser kid that thinks i'm cool(i dont think i no)then BANG!!cab 5 mute
Here we go again....another "everyone sucks but me...and they all need to get off my hill" thread!
Get off your high horse, your not that cool.....ski resorts are a pay for use amusment park, and once you pay, you can play anywhere you want!
You have NO authority over anyone else, no matter how cool you must feel wearing xxxxl siver gear and armada skis, you still don't have ANY authority or right to tell anyone where they can or cannot go....period end of discussion
Oh...but but but they fuck up the landings, they fuck up the take offs, they are in the way....welll guess what monkey boy, you and your crew may be in MY way...you and your cool crew may be slowing down the park to others....its all relative...and unless you are the owner/operator of the resort, YOU have zero say, just enjoy it, don't sweat it and ski
remember your not that cool and it is only skiing - so instead of complaining, use you IMMENSE level of talent to teach some of these little guys how to properly ski in the park....Be a positive influence and spread your stoke....if you can't do that, well, then your just a sad angry dick of a skier!
dude that is the sweetest thing. i remember being little and going in the terrain park. but i dont remeber caseing shit. i get hyper when im happy and i was always happy when i was skiing so i went fast and over shot shit. but there was prolly a time when i cased shit. but you are totally right
it is true that they are very annoying, however, they could be potential park skiers. If they start at that age, even if they arent doing anything, they will get good if they keep it up. There is a kid at my hill named cole and he is like 5 or 6 and can do 3's on a 15 foot table, that kid will be amazing
i like to jump over kids or jump right next to the ones who are climbing up the jump to scare the shit out of them. yes i know if i did injure anybody i'd be screwed but some kids are pretty annoying.
no. i hate those families who teach their kids to ski around, beside and below the tables. or even better is papa cruiser who catches all that fresh groomed run, snaking everyone else and snowplowing up the rolls. if your learning to ride park, thats great, there are beginner parks to learn. not everyone needs to be pro, and not everyone will be, but you should be competent. like the other day there was this little kid in jeans who cut right down the side of the qp wallride, right as i was heading up it, and i flattened him. i probably hurt him, but its was his own stupid fault. if not for our sake, those kids should stay out for their own.
when a little kid "goes off the side of ramps onto rails" you get pissed? You just described airing onto a rail from the side, something you probably cannot even do....so chillax bro
i dont care if theyre in thge park. as long as theyre not ridings over the lips, going off sides of kickers, or sitting in the way then its ok with me. its oly progression and they have to learn sometime. but....thast for littel kids, if your above, lets say 9 and doing that shit then leave. you should know better.
Its not the little kids in the park that are the issue, its the know-nothings or people with no courtesy who cut you off after you've waited and waited for your turn, finally call your drop, and they play around in front of you. If a little kid is actually hitting shit, thats good its the next-gen, but cutting people off is a big thing that a lot of people do not just begginers. I went to a mountain without park passes the other day, and it was hell. It was a complete free for all cause all the kids who rode park even people who were really good would just go, and if anyone was already dropping in, too bad.
you cant avoid it. even at the really small mountains, a bunch of kids go in the park, hit the sides of jumps, and cut you off, so they can say the "ski park"
yeah i hate it so much. they get in your way, ruin the lips, disappear behind the landings and you dont want to kill them so you have to sit there and wait for 5 minutes to make sure they are out of the way... but i have learned to be a little patient, plus somtimes they cut you off.
i ddint hit up the park at that age... bust i still probably got in people way. that is why i try to be patient with them because they are out there skiing
theres a difference between someone that knows how to ski and is just going into the park because they have massive lipps going onto a ride on box...thing is people who cant ski dont go in the park...wannabees do
I usually sit and watch because I know they'll bomb it. But seriously, they need to learn to respect it, ride the little park first if there is one. We've got a small and big one and little kids still come plowing into the 65 footers and of course they either crash or stop and slide down backward. I think I saw one little girl taker her skis off on the lip and walk down. One day those kids will get seriously hurt.
true man......
usually its the dumb older kids that will go off the jumps like that purposly and then skrew up the lip, little kids dont know it will effect the jump they are just stoked to be hitting something besides flat gound
at bristol they cut the back of the jumps so if you snowplow over it its 5ft drop to flat ness. but next year they are talking about putting in a pit with spikes problem solved
ive read 3 posts today now and all have turned into the same thing, talking about hating kids who arent as awesomely fantastically "steezy" as you are, and by the way i'll kick all your asses with my corked alley oop 2520 mute truck driver iron cross spread eagle, oh and ive been only been skiing since this morning
peace
Be as arrogant as you want...but at the end of the day you need to remeber that being a "gaper" is all relevant. Many, dare I say the majority of "newschool skiers" get in my way....do I care? I used to...but it is just not worth it. You fools who drive up in parents SUVs and crowd local hills every weekend...do I cry or whine? No...that is part of living in a ski town. I just cannot believe how many of you who claim ownership of a "park" do so with a lift ticket on your jacket. Your not locals, and even if you were, you ghot to relax and not worry about it too much. Many of you, and YOU know who I am writing about, could have cared less about jibbing five years ago...but know it is the cats meow. Your just crowding the park, like the little kids you whine about.
At least the little kids are having fun! You should all learn a thing or two from them...just smile, have fun and ski.
And if it is such a saftey concern, do something about it....don't just yell and act like some spoiled brat, show the kids how to do it right, be cool and take the time to explain to a mom or dad who may not know proper park etiquette what to do....you would be surprised how much better that works than yelling from the lift...
i dont mind kids in the park, bbut i do mind kids in teh park that dont undserstand/know the rules of the park. when you enter the park if you are little you should be taught abnout dropping in etc. and i know someone is going to quote this and say "why dont you teach them" and my response to that is because the only contact i have with the little kids is when they cut me off on the jump im bombing the whole hill to hit
i love little kids, at my hill they are fuckin wreckless, they bomb the hill and go flying off the lip, they dont do anything but its still sick to see a 8 year old fly twenty feet. Little kids arent as bad as snowboarders who sit on their asses on the run in doin up their bindings and shit
yeah, i was hitting our step up and i aired to the backside on a 3. couldnt see the backside obviously. but some little 5 year old shit was on the landing and i totally slapped the back of his head with my skis and i got bitched at for it. i was like WTF!!!
