XWave 8 - 2004/2005 or 2006/2007

Going to buy some Solomon XWave 8's tomorrow. I've got a choice of the 2006/2007 XWAVE 8 Free model or the solid shell model I think 2005 model(Black with Silver "XWAVE" writing).
They seem to fit the same, price difference is probably minimal (different store) - shouldn't be, but it is.
Anyone had any leakage from the holes in the new style or noticed any difference other than cosmetics in the two?

Ever heard of the shells leaking through the holes? I don't know if the second layer of plastic is just glued or if it's moulded so that it can't separate....

i am gonna get a pair too, i tried them on at Surefoot when i got my custom insoles cuz my boots are fucked up. Im really excited, im getting them this weekend

Thanks for the feedback - for info, I talked to a guy at Surefoot today, and they said they've never had problems with leakage from the holes, but that sometimes the holes can cause problems with punching them out if it's too close to the holes. So I went with the solid shell model.
