ok, so i'm very bored so I thought i'd come up with the most badass, hardcore, never-mind-the-bollocks big mountian setup. needless to say, picking the ski was hardest. no doubt you'll all disagree. i dont care about poles or gloves, so i didn't include them.

That Sweet Protection company makes some cool shit! Outerwear and some of the helmets are sick...especially the ninja green rocker.

Change your helmet choice to a TLD D2...best fullface out there.

The AK Rockets are a solid choice, but I disagree about the Sanouks...way too soft for big lines imo.

So many skis are better suited: 193 EHP, 190 FFF, 193 Supermojo, 194 Squad, etc etc

agree to disagree on sanouk. i think its burly. what is FFF?

Maybe not a ski brand, but it's a sick helmet used by many skiers.

Have you skied Sanouks? Great ski, but not burly by any means.

I beg to differ. Why do you think people like Hugo ride skis that are different from the production models?? Becuase the production models aren't stiff enough to be stable when they ski mach 2 down a 55 degree pitch.

As for your mention of non-stop powder, we are discussing big mtn lines, which a majority of the time, will be pow lines, unless you have awful luck and the snow sucks.

Yea, maple topsheet. Bomber construction.

Seth is a small guy, so the SV is plenty of ski for him.

I don't think many people ride AK Rockets anymore, but be on the lookout for a bunch of new pairs around as steepandcheap blew out several pairs a few weeks ago.

titan pro good call. its a real skiers ski like the ak rocket. i'm slightly against skis which are too "trendy" or image based.

not that they aren't excellent skis but something like the prophet 130 or Ant PM are a bit gimmicky- you might buy them coz they're "cool"

whereas you'd buy legend pros, ak rockets, b squads, titan pros because its the best ski.

Agree on the Prophet 130. It's just an oversized ski, but nothing really 'progressive' about it other than size.

While you might call the ANT trendy, it skis as good or better than many of the 'skiers' skis you mentioned. AK Rockets are great, but not very wide anymore by today's pow ski standards. I haven't had the chance to ski Titan Pros or LP's, but they will always have a good following. The new Squads are bomber, but I'm not as big of a fan of them as I am the ANTs.

Goggles are just personnal preference I think, but I agree with Luke on the TLD D2. I'd also think about Capital Punishments or Big Mountain Chargers in addition to SuperMojos, ANTs and FFFs. Oh, and 916s are a must.

That SWEET Protection one-piece is super sick too. I've never seen anything like it.

yeah goggles are personnal choice. i just thought they look mean and would go with protec ace spade. sumos are not a freeride ski- bc freestyle and only 175. 916 fo sure, i'm just not interested in bindings.

The ANTs are no gimmick ski. Unless you are a really good skier or a bigger guy, they will kill you. I would say they are def. one of the best big mountain skis on the market. The LP's are sick as well. super stiff and fucken bomb proof. By the way. Huges B4 is 10X stiffer then my ANTs, the big mountain pros do not ride soft skis.

in my view, no big mountain twin is ever (a) a pure freeride ski
(b) as good a ride as a swallow or reverse sidecut/camber ski as these give tip flotation that cannot be matched by a twin.

185 Kingswood Glomco - 175/145/166 - coming out soon =)

Not many other skis up there with those....

s916 are a must.

Really, you cant go wrong with any ski from Igneous, Capital, Kingswood, or DP.
