Wood Rail

i might build a wood rail for my yard with some wood i have. Are wooden rails like metal rails where i could just slide on it without it breaking? what are some other differences in wooden rails? thanks

Dont slide wood, youl catch an edge. Unless it is not treated than it is ok. But it wont break

I slid a shaved down log and it was alright...it was kinda cool it was like on a little ledge and sloped down like an upside down J

i found that if the wood is like cold i guess, it slides better, so like let all the water in the wood freeze before you slide it

i shanked 7 metal rails from this contruction they are dope
i made a double kinked rail for my snowskate and i gave some to my friend and i have a few other rails for my skiis

we have one up here, all you need is cold and wet, so there is like a little ice on it, and it works fine

Wood will slide....I was doing it yesterday. Either get it wet, us soap, or wax it.

I have a 4x4 thats about 16' long, and I plan on using it to practise in my back yard maybe or a park close to my house..

I was planing on geting some sheet metal and covering the 4x4 with that.

will this work or should i jsut leave it plain wood and throw some soap on er'?

just plain wood will be better in my opinion, by puttind metal on it, you,ll have to use screws and it would be bad for the skis.

i have a 35 foot triple or quad kink at my school boarders try, when i get better at rails I will probably do it my senior year
